wooley thoughts

Friday, July 31, 2015. On to what little bit of fun I've had in July. Most of my needlework endeavors have centered around getting my project for Camp Loopy 2 completed. I did complete with a week to spare. This is Nangou - I used 4 different colors of Shibui Staccato fingering weight yarn. I have used this yarn before and I enjoyed both the pattern and the yarn. The challenge this month was a minimum of 600 yards and mine should be a little over 600 yards. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. LAST HOURS OF JUNE.

wooley thoughts: May 2015

http://wooley-thoughts.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2015. JUST ANOTHER BAND OUT OF BOSTON. Memorial Day has come and gone, like someone said yesterday on Facebook - it's not all about BBQ's and boating. I hope you remembered all those who gave everything for our freedom and said a prayer for those today - in our time who are still trying to protect our country and our liberties that so many sacrificed so much to preserve in generations past. This is a beautiful little design that my mom hooked. It was color planned by Vivily Powers an...

wooley thoughts: April 2015

http://wooley-thoughts.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 10, 2015. Seems like I am always bemoaning how fast time flies by. Here it is April 10th already and my birthday is looming in the not too distant future. You know what they say "Another year older and what have you done"? I actually think that is a line from a John Lennon song I always found to be sad. Well - here is one thing done! The first in the LHN Sampler tree ornament series expertly and creatively finished by Faye over at Carolina Stitcher. I can't believe I didn't get a WIP photo ...

wooley thoughts: MOTHERS AND MAY

http://wooley-thoughts.blogspot.com/2015/05/mothers-and-may.html

Tuesday, May 12, 2015. I hope all my blog friends had a wonderful Mothers Day, celebrating with family and/or friends who might be mothers. I'm not a mom but I had a wonderful weekend with my own dear mom. We attended the EGA meeting and stitch in on Saturday and went to brunch with my DH prior. Sunday my folks and I went to the beautiful picturesque Club Continental. I wish my dad had gotten more of the lovely fountain but I got it in my shot of them. My DH was sick and didn't make it for brunch. So - t...

wooley thoughts: August 2014

http://wooley-thoughts.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 27, 2014. For those followers and friends who have been with me a while already know I am a sloooow rug hooker. In most cases it takes many years to finish a project - especially a big project. That would be the case of my Antique Blue Basket. Here is the other side of the runner. I worked on this at the January Camp Blanding retreat and then just put it away, knowing I only had a small amount left to finish. I will show a finished photo on this one. We just finished up anot...The Lucy ...

wooley thoughts: March 2015

http://wooley-thoughts.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 24, 2015. It's been exactly one month today since I posted on my blog. Dear friends are you still with me? I updated my blog face with my very oldest rug WIP - it is Bunnies at Play adapted from Warren Kimble and is a Woolly Fox design. Probably isn't even available any more. Is that his poor foot - shoot! Here is my dear mom with a sampler she finished for our EGA chapter challenge last year. It recently came back from the framer and I think it's just wonderful! Sunday, September 2, 2012. Stitching the time away. Here's my progress on AAWFAA. Girlfriends.I'm just about there! I've finished all the black outlines and am working on the final fill-ins. Then the beautiful red satin stitched words. Too much fun. It's always such an accomplishment to get the piece half done and then heading down the home stretch is simply the best. I love how the rosebud is stitched. It reminds me of needlepoint. I'm so looking forward to some cooler weather. I love stitching outs...

Simply Fabulous Cari: November 2013

http://fabulous-cari.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 18, 2013. A Huge Thank You and a Finish. Next, I finished Manor at Peacock Hill from With Thy Needle and Thread. I need to take a 'photo' taking class though. Both of these pics were taken with the same camera, same setting, same finger, same sofa, same room. I don't recall making any changes, but obviously I must have changed some setting. As thread for counted cross stitch. I will keep my Valdani only for punch needle. I provided my sweet stitching sister, Cathy, link to her blog.

Saturday, January 11, 2014. A Little Knitting and Friends. This is a Linen Stitch scarf I knit for my granddaughter Taylor Evan. She's living in Fall River, MA. so I knew she could use it. It's a fun knit. I have several more colorways in the knitting bag. Two of my 'out of town' stitching friends, Karen (Colorado) and Nicole (South Carolina), stopped by after Christmas for a stitching afternoon. We had such a great time. It was nice to visit and stitch the afternoon away! How sweet was that? Love that s...
