Get Your Woollies On! Laquo; New pattern: Clarendon scarf. Spool knitting on a grand scale. When I travel to Ithaca, I can go one of two ways: the hilly way or the flat way. Both ways take me past many abandoned buildings scattered around the farm fields–abandoned houses, barns, and silos. Abandoned buildings are common here in rural upstate New York, and each one has a story–a story of sadness, a story of surrender, a story of loss. Why did she walk away instead of selling the building to someone else?

Get Your Woollies On! Laquo; Life changes. New pattern: Clarendon scarf. Beautiful accessories for needleworkers. I would love some input from you knitters out there. I know you love luxury yarns, such as hand-dyed Malabrigo. Or Smooshy Dream in Color. I know you appreciate fine knitting needles, such as Signature needles. What about your other tools? What about the scissors you use (and frequently misplace)? What about the tools you may use when you sew, such as seam rippers or pin cushions? From your o...

Get Your Woollies On! On May 2, 2010 by Tracy. Sometimes, one quick decision can change your entire life. Early 1980s in a north Texas high school. My French teacher, knowing I had an aptitude for language and a longing to see the world, suggested I become an exchange student. I knew it would be an interesting year. Get Your Wellies On! It’s not a plant, but it looks organic. On March 28, 2009 by Tracy. I’ve recently become acquainted with some of the works of Dale Chihuly, an amazing artist who makes glass look as if it’s alive. He has a spectacular tower, the Fern Green Tower) in the entranceway of the Corning Museum of Glass in our area ( http:/ collection.cmog.org/browser.php? Another example I’ve just discovered is the glass chandelier at the main entrance hall of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Londo...

Get Your Wellies On! Archive for February, 2012. It’s too soon. On February 3, 2012 by Tracy. We have had an uncharacteristically warm winter this year. Very little snow. Very little cold. Lots of sunshine. Last week, the temperatures were in the 60s, and the idea of wearing short sleeves and no coat in January was just delightful. Check out my knitting blog! Get Your Woollies On! May 29, 2013. The ballet was wonderful. It was an evening of four dances choreographed by Balanchine with music by Stravinsky, Tschaikovsky and Ives. It was great to see the different styles of dance and we all enjoyed the various pieces. It did make for a very late night, but well worth it. And it reminded us how very close the city is and that we should do things like this more often. I even knit a bit on the way down, finally getting to the short rows in the Color Affection Shawl as well:.

2/52 New Hats →. Next on the needles. May 15, 2013. I mentioned that I went to the Knitter’s Review Retreat last fall. In addition to the wonderful workshop I enjoyed visiting the vendors. It’s much smaller than any fiber festival, so you get a good chance to really talk to the vendors. One of them was Kathryn Alexander. But I need to bite the bullet and get going. So this is what’s up next:. This entry was posted in Knitting. 2/52 New Hats →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

May 27, 2013. Well, I bit the bullet and cast on the Peak Brim Flare Crown Star Top Hat. Link to ravelry) this weekend. I’d read the instructions and the tip sheets, started watching a Craftsy class, and had totally freaked myself out. So I decided to just start knitting and see what happened. Well, since the first 12 rows are garter, it wasn’t too hard. Then I just took a deep breath, and trusted my 20 years of knitting. And so far so good! This entry was posted in Knitting. Woollie Warmer - Highly effective system for reviving hypothermic lambs
The strong plastic container is the correct size and shape to hold a lamb with a rubber sling to support it's body in the water. The head hole is shaped to support the neck and keep the face out of the water to prevent drowning. The tight fitting lid with clasp fastener retains heat and holds the lamb still, whilst the strong handles allow easy carrying of the Woollie Warmer. The tapered base gives the Woollie Warmer stability, enabling it to be used alongside the ewe. See the Woollie Warmer in action.
