Warm, real bathroom showers at the Marina were a welcome treat after the morning adventure and days at anchorages! Can’t recall when we have walked through so much rain! Charleston Home (Long One). Outward's first trip south on the ICW. Marathon to Ft. Lauderdale February 29 to March 4, 2016. By Al and Liz Sutherland. We left our slip at Faro Blanco in 14 knot winds and once out of their harbor winds went up to 19 knots. Tolerable and we finally got out! Our first anchorage was only ten miles away to Sisters Creek where we anchored very, very close to the mangroves. Very relaxing afternoon ending with a grilled lobster dinner. Mangroves at Sisters Creek, Marathon. Cold swim at Rodriguez Key. You wi...

Outward's first trip south on the ICW. South Carolina here we come! By Al and Liz Sutherland. And the rain, rain, rain, came down, down, down. Between wind, tide (6 foot) and currents, we moved the boat twice. It was rather disconcerting when you drop the anchor in 15 – 20 knot winds, but the current is so strong that it looks like you are still moving forward — with the wind coming in the opposite direction, you never really face into it! Sunsets.always different when on the water. Seems we can’...8216;...

Outward's first trip south on the ICW. Key Largo to Shell Key; then Marathon! By Al and Liz Sutherland. We finally left Key Largo around 8:30 am on Sunday, January 24th. Sun was shining beautifully; however, temperature was 47 degrees and wind at 18 knots. So, this is the Florida Keys? Mr Heater was brought out of storage to get rid of the morning chill! For about an hour we tried to get off the bottom; however, this bottom is not even close to being as forgiving as the Chesapeake Bay is! Monday, the 25.

Outward's first trip south on the ICW. PS while in Stuart. By Al and Liz Sutherland. So, what can you do when events happen and you want to share more info about where we are and what is going on — you add another post! We moved to our mooring on Saturday November 21. Due to a forecast of very strong winds again; and we didn’t want to fight wind and tides while leaving the slip and picking up the mooring ball. Note:. We spend time working on countless ‘duties’ on board. Our dinner table was with Lisa and...

Outward's first trip south on the ICW. Bellhaven, NC to Galesville — HOME! By Al and Liz Sutherland. After the second night in Bellhaven, we were happy to see calmer weather, and a higher tide! Am thankful, however, that there are areas such as these that can be used for their practice all for the protection of our country! Five of us boats are tied up and waiting out the wind. Plans for all of us are to cross Albemarle Sound; navigation aids warn boaters about crossing the Sound in high winds. O...It to...

Outward's first trip south on the ICW. Pine Island, GA to Beaufort, SC — 5/15 to 5/23/2016. By Al and Liz Sutherland. There are times that careful planning doesn’t always work in your favor! As usual, the weather can change as quickly as one can change his/her mind! Pat and Joe Casey recommended the Salty Pelican for Shrimp Tacos and oh my what a great place including my Sunset cocktail. Wish we had another day to spend here. Met up again with fellow boaters from Michigan (Sadie Too! First mate was up an...

Outward's first trip south on the ICW. Our last week in Marathon time to head north! By Al and Liz Sutherland. We decided to find an Episcopal church today, Sunday, February 21. St Columba altar made of seashells. Such a great start to the day, so we decided to go to Key Fisheries for lunch. Had a great Lobster Reuben (which they are famous for) and delicious fried conch and of course a cold beer! For those that don’t have CNG gas and use propane — the gas cooks very hot and quickly — h...We cleaned the ...

The Naked Writer–Lay Versus Lie. The Naked Writer…. On The Naked Writer–Lay Ver…. On The Naked Writer. Lucas on The Naked Writer. On The Naked Writer. Lydia Farrand on The Naked Writer. The Naked Writer–Lay Versus Lie. January 3, 2017. The distinction between the two words is a simple one: Lay, meaning to place something, is a transitive verb which like all transitive verbs takes an object. Lay the napkins on the table (you wouldn’t say lie the napkins on the table, would you? Let’s go to the past tense.

妖怪と少年 | What a lovely day!
What a lovely day! But I don’t think it is entirely our fault! It’s a kind of inevitable force! Go to the next post or comment. Go to the previous post or comment.
