Words From The Vein: Book Review: Niceville by Carsten Stroud

http://wordsfromthevein.blogspot.com/2012/10/book-review-niceville-by-carsten-stroud.html

Words From The Vein. Thursday, October 4, 2012. Book Review: Niceville by Carsten Stroud. By Carsten Stroud is an odd little book. Part crime story and part supernatural mystery, Niceville. Is not your average friendly read - and like Martha Stewart says, that's a good thing. Stroud, author of such novels as Black Water Transit. I was immediately drawn into Niceville. And while the book does have an ending, there are a few things left unexplained, which I hope the author plans to wrap up in the two plann...

Words From The Vein: Book Review: Virginia Creeper by Blaine Pardoe

http://wordsfromthevein.blogspot.com/2013/01/book-review-virginia-creeper-by-blaine.html

Words From The Vein. Monday, January 7, 2013. Book Review: Virginia Creeper by Blaine Pardoe. I love me a good serial killer story, so when I was approached to review Virginia Creeper. By Blaine Pardoe, I jumped at the chance. The publisher generously provided me with a .mobi file of the book and I immediately put it on my Kindle and started reading. Ultimately , Virginia Creeper. Sadly, it's because of the problems that plagued the second half of book that I have to give Virginia Creeper. Out of * * *.

Words From The Vein: April 2012

http://wordsfromthevein.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Words From The Vein. Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Book Review: Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry. I absolutely love reading Jonathan Maberry, but I kind of have a beef with him right now. The guy writes so damn fast that I can't keep up with his releases! It's been a while since I finished his excellent Pine Deep Trilogy and his first Joe Ledger book, Patient Zero. But since then, he's put out two more Joe Ledger books with a third one dropping any time now, Rot and Ruin. AND its sequel, Dust and Decay.

Was released back in May of 2011, I was quick to order it. I also quickly devoured it, savoring every chapter, every word. It's been a while since I finished it, and I'm finally getting around to reviewing it, so Mr. McCammon, I apologize for the delay. Let me start by saying The Five. Artwork by Vincent Chong.

Words From The Vein. Friday, October 19, 2012. Audiobook Review: Ex-Heroes by Peter Clines. The world is changing fast. Some people have developed special abilities that turn them into superheroes almost overnight. But all in all, that's not too bad, right? These new heroes are helping to fight crime and generally, they're making the world a safer place. Unfortunately, there are other changes also taking place. In Peter Clines' novel, Ex-Heroes. Peter Clines (and friend). In terms of performance, the aud...

Sunday, January 29, 2012. I am trying to keep to my resolution of blogging every Sunday without fail and am going to consider this an acomplishment, even though it is short! I received a really wonderful review on "Born Lucky" and it actually choked me up a little. Please take a second to check it out. I'm very proud! Now, back to the darkened room. I'm trapped on the migraine train. Tammy from Novel Opinion reviews "Born Lucky". Sunday, January 22, 2012. The Good and the Bad. Sunday, January 15, 2012.

Words from the Top of the World

Words from the Top of the World. The random thoughts of an arctic writer. Thursday, November 28, 2013. A Conversation with God on Thanksgiving Day. Through all the world there goes one long cry from the heart of the artist: Give me leave to do my utmost! 8211; Isaak Denison, "Babette's Feast", 1953. So I am thinking, today, of Karen Blixen, the wonderful Danish writer of royal blood who wrote under the pen name of Isaak Dinesen . Who made the ships, Charlie? What did you say? I said nothing," said Charlie.

Words from the ToWo Project- 2013

Words from the ToWo Project- 2013. Sunday, 14 July 2013. Weekend in the North. After a relaxing lunch, Juditta took me to her village- Clil. I was surprised to learn that most of the community lived off of solar energy- some people even lived in tents! It was a very relaxing village- different from anything I have ever experienced before, especially back in the states. We even walked to a woman's small farm to get eggs and cheese for dinner! Our last stop of the weekend was to an Arab city called Shfaram...

Tuesday, November 13, 2007. What Have I Learned? I came into the memoir class with several expectations. I expected to read memoirs. I expected to learn about writing them.
