Help Me Volunteer In Thailand And Laos. Saturday, November 3, 2012. I decided upon my return to NYC from Thailand to create a special little hand-carves vessel to hold a tiny Buddha I purchased while at a visit ti Wat Doi Suthep. Eventually these other 2 little vessels, (and a few more), with all of their imperfections, will be gold-leafed and ready for sale. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thursday, June 6, 2013. Those strange creatures are out there for sure, skulking along at the margins of believability, much as they move at the edges of our vision, ever only seen fleetingly. I’ve seen inexplicable lights in the sky that I always end up explaining away as orbiting satellites, but that’s not to say the appeal of that Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Kal-gonn, take me away. Links to this post. Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Sleep was that elusive fish, that silver flash deep in the dark pool, the one that was so difficult to hook and lately Robinson Lereux had found it even more elusive than usual. Links to this post. Leave the clouds found in the words of men; leave that heaven, men. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

I'm calling my article "Mastodons and Mega-Texts: Can Native People Escape the Clutches of Colonialist SF? It opens with a little story exploring a. Fiction of science (rather than a science fiction) that had devastating effects for the Anishinaabe people at White Earth. This excerpt gives a little sense of the flavor of my piece. Monday, October 3, 2016. Feel stone underfoot, men, feel stone there. Stone accepts no footprint, men, but stone think of men and the passing impression of men. Stone think long, men, stone think hard. Yes, hard, men say. Stone is hard. No, men, no. Listen! Stone think hard, but stone is not hard, men. Stone is tender. Tender in their care of men, men. Tender in their hard thoughts. Tender in their long ways. Then stone speaks, men. To men, men. Listen! Men must stop to hear stone. Men must stop! Tenderl...

Thursday, September 5, 2013. As the Anishinaabe call Lake Superior in Ojibwemowin (their language). The Anishinaabe displaced the Dakota Indian people from northern Minnesota and the North Shore in the decades after their arrival there (sometimes through conflict but, just to give lie to stereotypes of always-warring Indian tribes, often through treaty as well). The association of the Anishinaabe to this area is so strong that the Dakota people call the Anishinaabe hahatunwun. Links to this post.

Thursday, August 6, 2015. Notes toward that book you're going to want to read, 3rd installment. Human beings belong on Earth. We. 8212;as in the greater human family—belong here, but our modern societies ask us to believe the alien way and accept as fact the idea that the Earth is something other than a home we share with all the many other living and non-living beings. They are not resources; they are our relatives. Do they know they're related to all life on Earth? As pictured by Leland Bell.

As Jimmy headed out into the hall and on to the next room, Joan, the head nurse that evening, bustled down the hall toward him, smiling as ever. 8220;I wish I loved my job as much as you,” Jimmy told her and then, tilting his head toward the man’s room, asked, “What do we know about him? If you want to learn what the role of insurrection, the controlling of potential slave rebellions, and what "keeping arms" meant to the authors of the Bill of Rights and how they shaped the writing of the Second Amendment, you should take a look at the multipart discussion of this history- and how it is abused in current debates- that the Thoughtful Bastard has posted over on his blog.
