thequietstorme: October 2007

Thursday, October 11, 2007. Paris Trip #2 - Day 2 - Thursday - Last Official Museum Sprint, Tasty Thai and Canal St-Martin. The facade of the building is beautiful and the lobby and high painted ceilings in the hallway near the entrance were very impressive. This musuem had been described online as a mini 'scaled-down' Louvre - which I guess is accurate - but really scaled down! There were some nice objets d'art, including this work that I just loved, called La Femme au singe (1908) :. I had my packed lu...

Monday, March 26, 2007. Hello folks.as expected, I have not been blogging.as much as I have thought of many subjects to write about, I never get to it.often the reason being that after a long day of work, I rarely feel like sitting in front of the computer, other than to keep up with my 2 email accounts and myspace page. We both doubt that he got his cold from me, I was sick literally 2 wks before he was and we have avoided being intimate for so long now, to avoid passing germs to one another! Been livin...

Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Paris - Day 3 - Monday – Le Louvre and Cuban fare. Monday morning, I headed out on my own for my first big day in the city shortly after Shawn left for work After having a bit of trouble locating a metro station that had a counter manned with someone to sell you a weekly pass (my rotten sense of direction landed me at Pere Lachaise station instead of Ménilmontant! The Louis XV’s apartments were breathtaking! I ended up in a section with lots of marble statues at one point and ...

Tuesday, May 29, 2007. I tend to have intestinal attacks at my sister's place often at parties because something I eat will throw me off, but this time was attack-free and I was so happy! I ate every morsel, despite the increasingly full stomach that was making me more and more uncomfortable by the second. Gina (their other sister) was not kidding when she told me the day before to wear jogging pants to this dinner and I wished I had heeded her advice (I was wearing jeans! I could not believe that I was ...

thequietstorme: Annual Fall Picnic
http://thequietstorme.blogspot.com/2007/12/annual-fall-picnic.html
Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Now that I've finally caught up on my Paris trip posting (of my trip that I got home from in September! And we'd walk around then set up camp for our lunch. We ended up getting spooked one year when we saw hunters moving about with guns and realized that it was pretty dangerous and that could end up getting accidentally shot! So, we took the safe route and started going to Oka park (where you have to pay to get in to admire nature - how insulting! And enjoyed the day. We were ex...

thequietstorme: September 2007
http://thequietstorme.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 17, 2007. Paris - Day 9 (last day) – Père Lachaise Cemetary. We purchased the 2 EUR map at the entrance and set out to find out first destination planned, Jim Morrison’s grave, with “Break on through to the other side” echoing loudly in my head. It was quite a walk and without the map, we would have gotten so lost! Then you go through customs, in such a disorganized fashion compared to here! I had to take off my shoes and passed through, but with all of the staff passing through and mil...

thequietstorme: 2008 (to-date) in Review
http://thequietstorme.blogspot.com/2008/09/2008-to-date-in-review.html
Saturday, September 27, 2008. 2008 (to-date) in Review. Since I have not gotten around to blogging (at all! This year (I cannot believe it – where has the time gone! I figured I’d try to do a summary of 2008 to-date, attempting to be as succinct as possible (we all know my tendency to ramble once I get on a roll! We all participate in a gift exchange that usually sparks a small amount of controversy most years (which always ends with all being forgiven! We moved in in May, and settled in pretty quickly&#...

thequietstorme: January 2008
http://thequietstorme.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 2, 2008. I decided to go through all of our Fall picnic pics from last year, after looking over my last post and reminiscing some more. Can you spot the praying mantis? Check out the sunshine! Below are some pics of our 2004 picnic. It was a dark and dreary day as well. We were wearing scarves and gloves, so it must have been cold! The quality is pretty bad, and these are retouched in Paintshop Pro, they were from my old digital camera that died. Links to this post. Picnic. My cous...
