World Heritage in Hiroshima. Atomic Bomb Dome Top. One Scene in The Movie. 中央にドームを設置したヨーロッパ風の建物は、建築家ヤン レツル氏の設計で1915年 大正4年 に建設されました。 広島県産製品の販路開拓を目的に 広島県物産陳列館 として開館し、県下の物産品の展示 販売の他に、博物館 美術館としての役割も担っていました。 その後 広島県立商品陳列所 、 広島県産業奨励館 と改称、戦時中1944年 昭和19年 3月には広島県産業奨励館としての業務が廃止され、統制会社の事務所として使用されるようになりました。 存廃の議論が活発になり、一時は取り壊される可能性も高まりましたが、1960年 昭和35年 に被爆による放射線障害が原因とみられる急性白血病で亡くなった1人の女子高校生が残した あの痛々しい産業奨励館だけが、いつまでも、おそるべき原爆のことを後世に訴えかけてくれるだろう という手記を読み、感動した平和運動家 河本一郎氏を中心とし保存を求める運動が始まり、1966年 昭和41年 に広島市議会は永久保存することを決議しました。
