National borders, name changes and new politics have affected many countries in the world. In general the country names used are generic in character using names that are in current usage. This means that, for example, Zimbabwe is used to refer to Rhodesia and Zimbabwe-Rhodesia as both these names were in place when some of the photographs were originally taken. Other countries affected, amongst many others, include USSR/Russia and South Africa.
