Thursday, June 09, 2005. So the students at Addis Ababa University started a hunger strike to simply show a peaceful protest. The Federal Police were sent into the University and started beating the students and. Throwing them on buses and trucks. Apparantly they've been taken up North to Sendafa, Kolfe. Wednesday, January 26, 2005. I had the last of my 7 needles yesterday. Polio, hep A&B, the red measels. I think they just started making up diseases after the first 4. But at least most of them last my lifetime. I also started packing today. I have all my clothes fitting into one medium sized suitcase right now, and I plan to leave most of them there. Thursday, March 24, 2005. One more thing. When we got back from our trip, I discovered someone had stolen 320 Candian dollars (240 in Travellers cheques) from my closet. Monday, April 11, 2005. This is crazy. My good friend Souris (who does ministry with us everyday) comes from an Orthodox home. He accepted Christ 4 years ago, and was baptized 3 years ago. His family just found out about his baptism (which is a big deal here) and kicked him out of his home. His home is only a small dirt room, but it provides him shelter right?
