Around the World in 80 Years

Around the World in 80 Years. Photos, Stories, and Tips for Traveling around the World. Thursday, July 25, 2013. Day three was mostly about St. Louis. We began the morning in Ray's RV park where Ian and I tried to catch a Bass in the private lake. After an hour we hooked a couple of fish, both of which decided to eat the lure, break the line, and swim away so we headed off to St. Louis. Apparently some time in the last twenty years the rope swing disappeared and this section of the river which was previo...

Around the World in 80 Years: On Riding the Bus

Around the World in 80 Years. Photos, Stories, and Tips for Traveling around the World. Thursday, October 12, 2006. On Riding the Bus. Sometimes we don't have to travel to find adventure. 8220;But what if those seats belong to someone else? Do you know if anyone rides the bus and has a seat they prefer? Again looking shocked she said, “Well, a young lady and her baby sit in those seats right over there. And an elderly man usually sits behind me. He likes to go to the mall to walk and to wat...Be careful,...

Around the World in 80 Years: The Adventure Begins

http://www.worldin80years.blogspot.com/2006/09/adventure-begins.html

Around the World in 80 Years. Photos, Stories, and Tips for Traveling around the World. Tuesday, September 05, 2006. To go around the world in 80 years. This is not so much a dream of mine as it is what I hope will be the natural consequence of living. I believe that the world is just too big to sit comfortably in my own local community. There are too many enticing foods, too many interesting people, and too many breathtaking views to just sit at home. YeahI think you are a romantic. S.

Around the World in 80 Years. Photos, Stories, and Tips for Traveling around the World. Monday, October 02, 2006. My first jump out of a plane happened in small town of Chehalis in the State of Washington. This old logging town had a bar, a bowling alley, and an airport. Any town that considers these three amenities as the top three in priority obviously has an aggressive vision for future town growth so needless to say this place was happening. The same crowd was still standing and talking about their l...

The Jerusalem Letters: Fantasy Fulfilled

http://jerusalemletters.blogspot.com/2008/06/fantasy-fulfilled.html

Monday, June 9, 2008. Up above the site in the walls were ancient water systems and even entire Roman pillars jutting out of the dirt, from other, more recent (yet ancient) eras. So with all of its ugly warts and trying days, I will always be thankful to Israel for providing me a little bit of fulfilled fantasy. Who knows? Maybe one day I will be back - when Ryan is busy playing for the Red Sox and I am in need of a good diversion. Sara - beautiful post.I loved it! June 9, 2008 at 12:12 PM.

The Jerusalem Letters: A Walk To Remember

http://jerusalemletters.blogspot.com/2008/06/walk-to-remember.html

Tuesday, June 17, 2008. A Walk To Remember. The building where most US presidents and many world dignitaries have resided over the years. Then I turned down towards the old city - down a hill, then up again. Through a little concrete valley made up of fountains and steps, which ultimately leads to the base of the Jaffa gate entrance to the Old City. Not a tear, but rather a pang. I cant go for a run and end up at the rock of Golgotha anymore. I dont know if I am ready to say goodbye. Take my fret, take m...

The Jerusalem Letters: It is Better to Have Loved

http://jerusalemletters.blogspot.com/2008/06/it-is-better-to-have-loved.html

Thursday, June 19, 2008. It is Better to Have Loved. I didn't actually want to post today because I like Sara's last post and wanted it to sit in the "first" position a while longer but she reminded me that we are leaving Israel and may not get around to writing for a while. As I reach the end of the time in Israel I had to ask myself if I believed my own words. Is it better "to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all"? I have to answer with a convincing, "maybe". Is it sad to leave?

The Jerusalem Letters: Farewell, Sweet Stroller

http://jerusalemletters.blogspot.com/2008/06/farewell-sweet-stroller.html

Monday, June 16, 2008. Farewell, Sweet Stroller. Westminster, Windsor Castle and more. This stroller is a serious trooper. This stroller has been dragged all over Israel, through London and also to Jordan. It didn't even complain when we left it at home in favor of a smaller umbrella stroller for Egypt and Greece. No worries, it would be hard and sad for me to give up such a symbolic item. Adieu stroller! June 26, 2008 at 12:16 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What's Wrong With the World.

Monday, May 26, 2008. The Birthplace of Christianity. How sad and scary. It's interesting when you 'live' somewhere else and your not the tourist, you see the dirty laundry.skid marks and all. Your whole view can be so different. I'm hoping some of the people who received the bibles didn't give them up and it will still have a positive impact. May 29, 2008 at 11:31 PM. The Jerusalem Letters: Champion Chefs

http://jerusalemletters.blogspot.com/2008/05/champion-chefs.html

Friday, May 23, 2008. Last night we had another "Taco Night" and this time we had a "Bring your best salsa competition" theme. Because I am a humble and giving type of guy, I volunteered to not make a salsa and to simply serve as a judge. One guest (a Minnesota boy) also served as a judge with me. 3rd place to our friend from Santa Barbara who teaches Kindergarten here in Jerusalem at the Anglican school. The Jerusalem Letters: Retail Therapy

http://jerusalemletters.blogspot.com/2008/05/retail-therapy.html

Saturday, May 31, 2008. This post can take on several titles and it may be all over the place and really unfitting for an English 101 essay, but I forge ahead. Titles one and two would be "Retail Therapy" or the better stated "How I spent the grocery money today." The third title that would work is "One jar of marmalade at a time." Let me explain. Third (yes I am a power shopper! June 1, 2008 at 5:36 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What's Wrong With the World. Around the World in 80 Years.

Around the World in 4 Months. Follow newlyweds Jason and Larissa as they traverse the globe on a four month honeymoon. Sunday, July 09, 2006. It is hard to believe this four month trip has finally come to an end. We are flying somewhere over Indiana on our last flight. When we landed in Cinncinati to catch this flight, we looked around with fresh and wide open eyes. Signs in English! Prices in US dollars! The chance of turning a corner and spying a taco bell! The treasures were endless. As we traveled, w...
