OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Friday, October 12, 2007. One Hundred and Forty Fifth Entry. I'm finding it harder to write poems these days, to be honest. I feel like I can't put two words together. I'm not lacking for inspiration, but somehow I'm lacking something. Oh well, no apologies. I'm working on a revision for a top secret project coming up soon. And also, I'll be reading. In Manhattan in November so watch out for that. In the meantime, here's a kind of halloween-ish one.

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Sunday, March 16, 2008. One Hundred and Fifty-First Entry. I've been staying up very late lately. Who knows why? This poem is part of my Fit to Print series. I bought a new totally manual typewriter, and it's inspiring me to write, mostly fiction, but this poem as well. Peace and hair-grease. URGED AT NIGHT COUNCILS. No effort, and we wander. Our first instinct is to bend like thin fronds. Towards the computer, but I don't. Pennsylvania. To turn the lights on?

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Tuesday, July 31, 2007. One Hundred and Fourtieth Entry. Ingmar Bergman died. That's a bummer. Things are going normally for me, although I'd like to be sending out and doing readings more. I'd just like to be writing more. Here's an idea I tried out using some original lines, some found lines, and Microsoft Excel. Whatever the falling object hits. Notified by the members. Golden heart in harmony. Hand emptied of flying object. Personal defense and "competition".

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Tuesday, June 10, 2008. One Hundred and Fifty-Seventh Entry. I had a REALLY bad nightmare last night. It's also two thousand degrees here today. Also, I scratched my glasses and need to get new lenses. Just things going on in Steve-land. Here's another Animal Kingdom poem. The kitchen table is covered in white cotton,. And I am drinking a cup full of ants. Her breasts are touched by sunlight. And begin to turn blue, then red,. I am eating the meat off a skeleton.

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Tuesday, September 25, 2007. One Hundred and Forty-Fourth Entry. Ps Hi Steve Caratzas! Sometimes I actually disappear. The gloves for heroes leave no prints or traces -. Not to say I am a hero for standing still. And shivering until the form is blurred. And breaking open the combination lock. I ask everyone if I can help them,. Sometimes repeatedly, in my uniform. At the mall, "here are tears," they say,. And hand me many jars of glossy. Sunday, September 16, 2007.

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Friday, May 16, 2008. One Hundred and Fifty-Fifth Entry. I've started writing poems that I'm not posting. Don't worry, it's only been a couple and it's because they're not of a caliber, you know what I mean? Plus, with my reading. Project called "Steve Roberts' Animal Kingdom." Here's one of those poems. I'm writing about sunlight dripping off of a brick wall. It hurts me to write about it, and my house. Is surrounded by sunlight. It hurts me. The Dick Pig Review.

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Monday, December 31, 2007. One Hundred and Forty Eighth Entry. Happy Brew Years everybody! Lot of colossal changes here in the Roberts camp, but at least I'm writing new poems, and this year is actually looking up for me which is odd, I know. Here's a happy dappy scrappy little bit of new writing. Keep continuing, hoping that some powerful essence will escape me. The next day will feel so great, a breeze at my back and my empty body lighter. We codgers celebrate o...

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Wednesday, August 01, 2007. One Hundred and Forty-First Entry. Nothing to update you about, but here's a new spreadsheet poem that I like. You better be sad. Goodbye to the ending. The body is hollow. Take care of yourself. Warm to the touch. Sweat hiding in clothes. I want to make it alone. It even makes a hollow sound. Theater lights come on. It has to be empty. How content am I. Dry as a bone. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Andrew benko/eat this scroll.
