So why has music played such an important part in my life? And why do I like ‘world music’? I still keep in touch with new music from the UK and US, but it is music from around the world that interests me most. Why? I know that I’m not the only person like that. I’ve seen them in the same shops, concerts and festivals and often wondered whether their story is the same as mine. Or are we all different, with different histories, motivations and triggers that spurred our interests?
