Golden Gate Audubon Society. Last week. Pamela Lewellyn led us through some of the restricted access breeding areas at the Hayward Regional Shoreline. She was decked out with her Leica spotting scope on a Gitzo tripod. Mmmm. gear. Not exactly my flavor, but it's still gear. Most of the birds' nests were on these islands. Nice set of ...

http://walkingprescott.blogspot.com/2008/09/flowering-blues.html
All about the flavor of a small mountain city and the surrounding outback: neighborhood surprises . wildflowers and nature . the forest . people and events . plus occasional comments on science fiction, music, and the Great Wide World Beyond. Wednesday, September 03, 2008. After my plaintive note last night, it seems only fitting and proper to consider the question of blue. In case you are out in the woods this week and next, you might see small bright blue jewels in moist shady areas. Pretty little ...

Tree Clowns: Bleached Baby Ducks
http://treeclowns.blogspot.com/2009/07/bleached-baby-ducks.html
Wildlife is everywhere. Documenting the critters in my yard near San Francisco. Tuesday, July 7, 2009. We had some baby ducks and their parents visit our pool for a little swimming lesson. Six chicks in all, not doing so well at getting out of the pool. Only two could get out consistently. Mom had to keep jumping in to show them how it's done, and every time she jumped in, any chicks that made it out followed her back in the water. They finally all got out. Then there was trouble getting out of the gate.

Tree Clowns: Dragon Tails
http://treeclowns.blogspot.com/2009/05/dragon-tails.html
Wildlife is everywhere. Documenting the critters in my yard near San Francisco. Sunday, May 17, 2009. Sorry for my long absence. There are a lot of squirrel happenings going on. Watching his little tail drag and sway behind him as if he was pulling a sweeping broom was hilariously sad. . May 19, 2009 at 11:26 AM. May 20, 2009 at 12:14 ...
