An insight into how we grow fruit and veg. Thursday, January 29, 2009. Heritage peas by the packet. Being a Leicester boy, the varieties "Mayor of Leicester" and "Lord Leicester" hold particular interest. Some being kept and some passed on to others. To be honest, I have never been so exited at the begining of a growing season. Links to this post. It will hang there f...

Garden of Eatin’. Learning to Survive – Eat or be eaten in Gardening Zone 4. Seed to Seed Challenge. Seed Trials for 2009. Wild Edibles Food Project. August 17, 2009. Yesterday as I woke up, there was one word on my mind – Compost. This sort of thing actually happens a lot. I will wake up with an idea and feel I have to act upon it. Sometimes this is how I get answers for problems or a question that I’ve pondered. So last year I got the great idea to just make a pile out behind the homemade greenhouse....

An insight into how we grow fruit and veg. Sunday, November 21, 2010. This time I mean It. The time has come to really make an effort for next year on the plots and that means lots of sorting out this winter. I have made a good start and the compost bins are already filling up with weeds.
