Faith: January 2009
http://faithworshipmusic.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 19, 2009. It's blog time again! The Christmas bells are no longer ringing in my ears! I love Christmas from a holiday perspective, but I've grown to dread its musical demands! But now it's January, and it's time to start fresh. What's the recurring theme in these verses? I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:8). I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. (Psalm 34:1). That's the common theme.

Sunday, September 27, 2009. Did you know we're starting up a brand new Praise Choir on October 18th! Yup Pretty cool. Just melody singing and infectious worship leading. It's not even so much a team as an interest list. Every three weeks you'll get an e-mail alert that choir is on schedule, and then it's your chance to decide! Whoever comes to that Tuesday night practice sings on Sunday morning. Simple. It's gonna be great! If you want in on the interest list, just talk to me! In Christ, on the web,.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Did I tell you all I had surgery to repair my torn Achilles tendon, as of the day after Easter? Well, I'm out of my cast, as of about 1 hour ago! It feels pretty weird. It's like my foot is just a floppy fish hanging off the end of my leg. And now I'm in this nice black boot. God lamed him in the process. But it changed him. As he LEANED, he worshiped. His dependence was not on himself. He knew his own insufficiency. He worshiped the One greater than himself. Leaning can be a reall...

A New Perspective on Thankfulness. Bob Fellers and Ray Macks. If I Had $1,000,000 [If I Had $1,000,000]. Tuesday, November 18, 2008. A New Perspective on Thankfulness. I stumbled upon a Bible passage today I've never noticed before:. 7"Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, 'Come along now and sit down to eat'? 9Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? What I hear God saying in verses 7-10 ...

Release the Poets - Ross Parsley. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Release the Poets - Ross Parsley. Today's post is inspired by an article from Ross Parsley in the July/August Worship Leader Magazine. Ross is Worship Pastor at New Life Church in Colorado Springs. He recorded songs such as "My Savior Lives" and "I Am Free". He says that most leaders don't know how to encourage the strengths of poets, and they also don't know how to challenge their weaknesses. Inspiration also happens best in a community where i...

Faith: February 2009
http://faithworshipmusic.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 11, 2009. I did a word search recently on the word "worship" in the Bible. I was looking for nuggets to teach on HOW we should worship properly. (Have you noticed that in the American church we're always trying to improve our methodology? It's like we believe that if we go to enough conferences or read enough books, that someday we'll finally crack the code of how to do church so perfectly that everyone will get saved. Right.). You will worship God. So that they may worship me.

Monday, November 30, 2009. In August, I attended the Willow Creek Leadership Summit along with several staff. Many of the speakers were really good, but the surprise impact came not from a preacher but from Bono - lead singer of U2 and international activist. He said, "it is an offense to Christ when people die in poverty.". Scroll down to read my August. Post where I mention this). And could I be a "worship leader" by bringing glory to Christ through touching the poor? Worldwide estimates ranging anywhe...

VBS 2009 is over. Sunday, June 28, 2009. VBS 2009 is over. So after two straight weeks of VBS, at our Oakville site and at our Columbia site, I'd like to say how excited I am to be finished wearing my blue VBS shirt. Nothing against the shirt. It's just time for something NEW! It was a great couple weeks - somewhere around 500 kids touched altogether. Can I just say that it's an awesome thing when kids worship! On the very first day we played a song called So Glad:. Let All the Children. God is Number One.
