We can’t do it without You! A timer is someone who records the time for a swimmer’s race with a stopwatch. For each dual-team meet, we need to have 3 timers per lane ( league rules. And gives you a great view of the meet. More information on Timing a Meet. Usually two people who will periodically collect the DQ slips from the stroke judges and the lane timer sheets from the timers and bring them to the scoretable. Not hard. This is the greatest job! To get Meet Mobile, follow the links below, or go to iTunes or Google play and search for Meet Mobile . Once you have the app running on your device, you can set it up to be able to receive results of the meet while the meet is in progress (even before we print out the results! Each time the times for a heat are entered into the computer, those times are uploaded and can be viewed using the Meet Mobile app. Can flag and track their favorite swimmers in real time, without needing to be at the meet.

What do we do if it rains? If it is raining on the day of a meet, all teams must show up to the meet or a forfeit will take place. Only the meet referee can call a meet off because of rain. The decision takes place only on the day of the meet at the meet site. Just because it is raining where you are, do not assume that it is raining at the meet site. A meet can take place during rain–but not if there is thunder or lightning. Thunder and lightning will cause a 30 minute delay during a meet.

It is critical that you inform Coach Melanie. 4 swimmers per relay. If one doesn’t show up, no one swims. Relays are perhaps the most fun aspect of a meet. It is really disappointing to the other swimmers if a relay swimmer doesn’t show up. All swimmers will be required to wear goggles while swimming. They can be found at all sporting goods stores. We recommend getting a good pair so they fit well (don’t come off during a race) and do not fog up. All swimmers are strongly encourage to wear swim caps.
