Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Excellent start to the year. The first dig day of 2008 turned out to be a stormer! Nice weather and the best turn out we have seen for a long time. Got loads of maintenance done on sections 1 through 3, they needed some TLC, someone put bit more of a lip on that table top too. Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Just a quick warning really. The XC. Trail has suffered pretty badly with two long summers of rain. At no point has the trail had chance to dry out and harden up. The more its ridden in the wet, the wider / worse it gets. So, if you can please, don't bother riding the red XC. If its rained recently. Monday, October 29, 2007. Last Thursday Ben and I took a trip down to Sherwood to meet with the FE. Very encouraging meeting and helped to further advance the WRC’s position at Wharncliffe. XC Trail will carry on as at present, moving onto section 5 before December and starting the first descent in the New Year. Hopefully on the DH side of things Ben will have some good news in a few weeks. Next XC dig day posted up, should see section 5 open and ride able. Hope to see you there. Latest dig day dates.

Wednesday, October 08, 2008. XC Dig days to resume. I'm just waiting for approval from the FE to build a climb from the TPT to the top of the DH Runs. This will resolve the issue where fastrack is now a descent / push up track for DH and give back the XC guys a nice challenging climb. Approval should happen this month, then we should be resuming digs on the last Sunday of the month for the winter, certianly through till Feb. Keep your eye out on. And www.wharncliffe.info. In preperation for the Wharncliffe weekender were fixing up section 5, Thats to all who turned up for great (Dry) dig on Tuesday 20th, We have another one on 27th where we should be laying down some surfacing. Monday, March 09, 2009. All quite on the Wharncliffe front. or is it. Sorry there hasnt been an update for a while, I've been a little preoccupied with a new member to the Familey. Anyway, a short update. XC Dig days are largley on hold at present, unless we can find someone with a bit of time on there hands this year to run dig days (mail to xc@wharncliffe.info if you fancy it). Monday, December 10, 2007. Red Trail signing - Important please read. Last month we started work on removing the old black trail markers and placing the new red trail markers. We got about 50% of the way around the trail on the last dig day, so if you follow the red markers they will end at a point just about as far from the CP. That you can get! So if you are riding at Wharncliffe. For the first time PLEASE DOWNLOAD the trail map on the Trail maps page. Where we have built and established Fireroads.
