Wriggly Tin makes a perfect base from which to explore three long distance trails that pass close by. The South Downs Way. Runs for over 100 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne. The western section, from Wriggly Tin to Winchester, is a fine walk which can be tackled in one or two stages. In the other direction, which takes in Butser Hill on the way, the pretty village of South Harting can easily be reached in a day. The Monarch’s Way. The Wayfarer’s Walk.

Was our first shepherd’s hut and is a wonderfully romantic retreat. It has a full length double bed and, like our other huts, a wood-burning range for cooking and heating. There are currently five shepherd’s huts to stay in. At Wriggly Tin, plus a baby one if you need extra space. Has all the facilities of Butser, with the addition of a single bunk bed, so it can sleep up to three people (or even four, if young children go ‘top to toe’ in the bunk). There is no electricity at Wriggly Tin, so it’s back to basics for lighting, heating, cooking and washing – just like it was for a shepherd out lambing 100 years ago. The heart of your shepherd’s hut is the wood-burning stove which, as well as keeping you warm at night, provides heat for cooking and hot water. It’s also great for drying wet towels! Our stoves feature a large hotplate and an oven just big enough to roast a small chicken, cook jacket potatoes or even bake fresh bread!

Wednesday, 10 September 2014. Spring on the Farm 2014. So much has been happening on the farm recently, it has literally burst to life! Blossoms on fruit trees. In the Garden, we have started with the planting for the year. The last freeze came just over a week ago and since then the weather has been HOT! There are 4 different kinds of Tomatoes that have been put in so long, we are still waiting for our seeds that have been planted in the trays to show up to party but I'm sure it will be any day now.
