Even after all the silence and all the empty space I feel comforted by my keyboard. Clearly the last 5 months have been busy. Busy or boring, as both states are merit for not writing, for never giving myself the time to release. Reunions with friends, a trip away. Financial aches and pains. Always pain. An idea to buy land, to build a home.

She is talking a mile a minute, forgetting all her manners, bouncing from bum cheek to bum cheek and speaking nonsense. Her vocabulary is actually mighty good for 7 years, but she’s incorporated into her speech phrases that mean. But that carry intonation she’s picked up around her. I love that I can be exhausted, at the end of my rope emotionally and physically, and I have no boss to answer to, no co-worker to get along with and no customer to satisfy.
