From Zaftig to Aspie by DJ Kirkby | The Book Pedler

Where there are Books, there is Knowledge…. From Zaftig to Aspie by DJ Kirkby. How many of us take the life we live for granted? How many of us never stop to consider where we came from, what made us who we are? How many people never stop to think of what defines us, what shapes us into the people we grow to be? And what an existence it is. But there were no words to describe her condition, no words to explain what she felt inside of her. From Zaftig to Aspie, Kirkby’s moving, incredible memoir of ...

Multiple adventures without leaving the couch! About Me – Alice Elliott. My Writing C.V. I’ve had a couple of ‘near misses’ this month, competition wise, but as they say, a shortlisting is still an achievement, and I’m certainly clinging on to that at the moment…. Story (written in half an hour) placed 2nd last week and I also made the shortlist of the latest Flash 500. If you’re interested, here are a few opportunities I’ve come across recently and two of them are FREE! Top Five Literary Romances. I don...

Alison In Writerland: My November First Paragraph Project
http://alisoninwriterland.blogspot.com/2014/11/my-november-first-paragraph-project.html
Sunday, 9 November 2014. My November First Paragraph Project. It's November again (how did that happen? The time of year when many brave writers turn their attention to NaNoWriMo. In other news, I've had a few more writing successes. That story that was longlisted in the Doris Gooderson competition was sent out into the world again to take its chances, and ended up published in Issue One of Kishboo, an exciting new online magazine. You can read my story here. And finally, I've been a runner-up in WriteIn...

Alison In Writerland: A Little Encouragement Goes A Long Way
http://alisoninwriterland.blogspot.com/2015/03/a-little-encouragement-goes-long-way.html
Monday, 16 March 2015. A Little Encouragement Goes A Long Way. I'm not quite sure how it's happened, but almost a quarter of 2015 has passed. It's been a frustrating few months, without a single publication. I haven't even managed a WriteInvite shortlisting, even though I've been entering every week. I've definitely fallen out of favour there. On the positive side, I've actually been writing more than ever. Thanks to writing sessions with my writing buddy Jo. Included in issue 2 of Firewords Quarterly.

Alison In Writerland: May 2014
http://alisoninwriterland.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 26 May 2014. I can think of no better place to restart a blog than with something I've been published in. I've been published before, in magazines, and competition anthologies. Nothing else, though, has made me quite as proud as being part of this new anthology of woman writers My Baby Shot Me Down. In other news, I'm wondering whether it's worth entering The Bridport Prize. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 160; . 160; . 160; . 160; . 160; . View my complete profile.

Alison In Writerland: February 2015
http://alisoninwriterland.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 2 February 2015. Still Just Getting On With It. Ironically, I've written more this month than I've done for a long, long time, thanks mostly to almost daily sessions with my writing buddy. I've got a handful of brand new stories in first draft form. I'm quite excited about a couple of them. I'm sure I'm a better writer now than I was this time last year. All I need is a bit of encouragement. Please? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 160; . 160; . 160; . View my complete profile.
