I graduated from Gonzaga University with my BA in English in 2010. My poem "Fruit" earned the 2010 Gurian Writing Award for Poetry, which was a rewarding step up from my poem "Dock's End" earning an Honoroable Mention in the 2009 Gurian Writing Awards. I'm currently working towards my MFA in Creative Writing: Poetry at San Diego State University. I spent last year interning at the literary magazine Poetry International. I also work as a freelance writer, editor and tutor in the Los Angeles area.
