Write * Craft * Think (repeat). Sunday, November 2, 2014. I wondered about the possible long-term effects of the 30/30 month, hoped a month of writing every day would spur more writing when the month ended. And it has - October ended with six new poems in the poetry bank. Not as many as September yielded, but more than August had. And last weekend I traveled to the Twin Cities to do a reading at the Schmidt Artist Lofts with a memoirist - a mutual friend put us together for a reading. As strange as i...

Write * Craft * Think > (repeat): Day 21 / Poem 21

http://writecraftthink.blogspot.com/2014/09/day-21-poem-21.html

Write * Craft * Think (repeat). Sunday, September 21, 2014. Day 21 / Poem 21. It's hard to believe that here I am in the last 10 days of the 30/30 Project. One of my favorite parts has been getting words from people - I love knowing they've supported me by donating to Tupelo, helping to keep poetry in the world, I love the challenge of working with five words I didn't choose and finding their way of fitting together, and I love being able to post and tell people that their words have made an appearance.

Write * Craft * Think > (repeat): And then it was October

http://writecraftthink.blogspot.com/2014/10/and-then-it-was-october.html

Write * Craft * Think (repeat). Wednesday, October 1, 2014. And then it was October. Yesterday was the last day of September, my last day on the 30/30 Project (although, I should point out, NOT the last day you can donate in my name to Tupelo Press! Did I make a strong enough habit? Without having to publicly produce work, with people actually waiting on me to do so, will I still write as frequently? October 1, 2014 at 9:04 AM. October 1, 2014 at 12:10 PM. I love this. You are my hero, Merie Kirby.

Write * Craft * Think > (repeat): Just past the halfway mark!

http://writecraftthink.blogspot.com/2014/09/just-past-halfway-mark.html

Write * Craft * Think (repeat). Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Just past the halfway mark! Was a surprise and a delight - it felt like it just showed up waiting for me to write it down. I mean - I revised and edited and changed and shaped, but it wasn't a struggle. The words my friends gave me? Arabidopsis, Schenectady, prosaic, buttery, indigo. And here is Arabidopsis thaliana. The title plant of today's poem:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Dog Runs On: poems. Available from Finishing Line Press.

Write * Craft * Think > (repeat): Day 17 / Poem 17

http://writecraftthink.blogspot.com/2014/09/day-17-poem-17.html

Write * Craft * Think (repeat). Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Day 17 / Poem 17. My self-imposed writing assignment this morning was to use the five words provided by my friend Casey, who sponsored me in this writing-intensive month. See the end of this post for details.). Casey's words are: surprising, unassuming, searching, kindness, and verdant. And then I felt that rush of seeing how the poem would come together, where I needed to pull from to create it, and how the other words would fit in. Set of 4...

I've always wished I were a writer. Now I realize I always have been one. The only difference is that I'm finally doing something about it. The Wait Is Nearly Over! Lori Whitwam Author Page. Wednesday, October 5, 2011. They Don't Make An Effective Sleep Aid for People Like Me. OMG There are no words. Well, hopefully there ARE words since I got my comfy ass out of bed to write this post. And there are no photos to accompany it or I would meet an early death. He was. And there was definitely movement and noise, ranging from, "Is someone sick? To "What the hell? To "If you woke me up to kill a damn bug, just find a shoe." to "What the HELL time is it? Noise or sense a little. I have a past with...
