Excerpts | John Marvin

The First Day of Class. We march down a hall, execute two precise turns, enter the open door of an office. I look around, considering my options. There is an upholstered chair by the dark wood desk. Mr Austin sat calmly on his screened-in front porch and read the Sunday funny papers while Mrs. Austin tore around inside the house clearing the breakfast table, doing dishes, bustling, bustling, bustling. Her voice drifted out to the front porch.

About the Author | John Marvin

http://www.writereadtalk.com/about-the-author

Growing up, John Marvin often heard his father’s and great uncles’ stories of fights, feuds, and difficult lives lived in a past era. Like his ancestors, the author has worked many jobs: gas station attendant, farmhand, bellhop, forklift operator, highway maintenance, photographer, teacher, corporate communications. His writing is a product of experience, extensive reading and a slightly off-balance storytelling process. Currently, his primary goal in publishing. The Stained Glass Door.

writereads | A Canadian book club podcast that will change the world of literature forever

A Canadian book club podcast that will change the world of literature forever. Staples’ Archie …Starchie? July 21, 2015. My attempt at getting as many of the new Archie #1 variants in the shot as possible. Couldn’t get them all. I seriously have no idea what it is about Riverdale and its band of vanilla characters that has me so enthralled. Is it the fact that dating high schoolers sometimes call each other “lover’? Was it Jughead’s big nose (I have a thing for big noses)? I try not to analyze it too much.
