My Constant Companion | Writer Nick Lyon
https://writernicklyon.wordpress.com/2016/02/11/my-constant-companion
February 11, 2016. The longest relationship of my life is nearing its end. From the moment I saw her, I had to have her, and she came to me willingly enough. For years now, we’ve been inseparable. She’s been the John Lennon to my Paul McCartney, and I know that, just like Paul, I’m going to have to say goodbye to her in the hardest of ways. Of course, I mean my dog, Jandy. I didn’t have anything to pick it up with, so I opted to walk a little faster, nearly dragging my pooping dog behind me. It seemed it...
Boston: What Being a Dad Means | Writer Nick Lyon

Boston: What Being a Dad Means. November 17, 2015. His tiny legs carry him up and over the edge of the bed. With maniacal laughter, he attempts to run on the soft surface of the pillow top mattress. Despite the blankets and pillows, he manages, laughing the whole time. This is a game we play each day. He grabs my hand and says, Da! When are you having another kid? Is a question we hear a lot. At times like this, I think. But there is nothing more glorious in life than hearing a little voice call you Da!
Too Much Time… | Writer Nick Lyon

Too Much Time…. April 28, 2016. Recently, I had time on my hands while listening to. 8220;Calleth Me Maybe”. There, hath I cast a wish into that well. Do not asketh of me, I wilt nev’r tell. Mine eyes gazed at thy face as the wish fell. And now thou art standing in mine own way. Mine own soul wouldst I barter for a wish. Pennies and shillings all for just a kiss. Sought not I these troubles that came with this. And now thou art standing in mine own way. The gaze of thine eyes to mine own did hold. You ar...
Seriously? Or do I mean literally? | Writer Nick Lyon
https://writernicklyon.wordpress.com/2015/06/01/seriously-or-do-i-mean-literally
Or do I mean literally? June 1, 2015. But somewhere along the line the word “seriously” was traded unceremoniously with the word “literally”. I hear people use the word literally in order for others to take their words more seriously. The problem, I think, is that when comparing the words, the word literally seems to hold more weight to it. Try this:. 8220;I seriously just ate a whole pizza.”. 8220;I literally just ate a whole pizza.”. First or Third Person? What the hell is Writing? Follow me on Twitter.
First or Third Person? | Writer Nick Lyon

First or Third Person? May 14, 2015. Pros of First Person. Cons of First Person. With all good things, there are also a few bad things. One thing people who don’t like first person may point to is the fact that the narrator is not exactly trustworthy. Poe was famous for writing first person stories in which the narrator was insane. How then does the reader know what is reality and what is imagined by the narrator? We don’t, which is really another reason I enjoy the narrative. Or do I mean literally?

Writer's Curse – Sleeping is optional – writing is not
Sleeping is optional – writing is not. Who am I writing for? October 25, 2014. For any of you lovely people (and there were a few of you) who took the time to read my first post–thanks! I won’t lie; it was ridiculously exciting to see that someone had visited my blog and read something that I wrote. Because sometimes I feel like that might be the only thing anyone ever reads by me. Now before you think I’m throwing myself a pity party here, I’m not. I’m not! It’s so tempting. It really is. If I have lear...

The Writer's Nightmare
Friday, October 12, 2007. The Right Way Around. The trouble with doing a blog in chronological order is that is messes up the way the episodes are viewed so I thought it might help to do a single blog where the episodes were able to be seen from beginning to end in 1 place instead of scattered all around at least until I can get some web space to do it properly and as a backup for when they aren't able to be accessed elsewhere. Peter and Cyan try to tap into the Akashic Record of the Collective Unconscio...
