Skip to primary navigation. Reading Record – Lost Girl (Adam Nevill). Thursday 3 November, 2016. A gleefully nihilistic revenge narrative – it’s an unflinching look at loss and grief and guilt. What Nevill does really admirably is convey that last, torturous little flicker of hope; the man can’t give up, because what if? What if his daughter is still alive, and can still be saved from a worse fate than whatever has already befallen her? The police to be capable of finding his daughter; he. It has a strai...

Skip to primary navigation. 8220;Gleam’s combination of dystopia, mythic quest, music and squishy monsters is hugely entertaining. Fletcher’s distinctive prose – alternating baroque description and brutal action – is spiced with witty dialogue and eccentric characters” SFX. 8220;Fletcher’s writing is so fresh and distinctive, and his characterisation of Edie, a dreadlocked loner living in a caravan, is so strong that this becomes an enjoyably scary quick read” Sunday Times. The Thing on the Shore.

Skip to primary navigation. The Thing on the Shore. Wednesday 1 February, 2012. Published by Quercus Books (2011). Fiction Attempts Lead to Failure: And again
http://ifailwhereican.blogspot.com/2009/07/2006-new-edit.html
Fiction Attempts Lead to Failure. Thursday, 16 July 2009. I'm actually losing sleep over this. (There's definitely something wrong with me). Re-re-editing this poem as it still sounds too much like "Jam" to me. Hopefully all imitation will now be taken away as if it never happened. 8am flicks eyes awake. To up and stand on topple soles. And take firm hold on woodchip walls. And thrown outdoors to red-brick street. And city shuffling shackled feet. To next grey roof and nylon room. With nowhere else to go.

Tuesday, 30 November 2010. Hidden Gem and The Resurgence in Independent Publishing. It seems to be a vibrant time for independent publishing in the North West, and the UK in general. I'm not sure whether it's because of or despite the recession and the cuts to the Arts. IN any case we don't seem to be suffering from the winter blues where the prospects of publishing are concerned. In fact there seems to be a feeling of Spring and renewal; a resurgence in independent publishing. Tuesday, 16 November 2010.

Fiction Attempts Lead to Failure. Saturday, 23 May 2009. Another day slopes ahead,. Beckoned by a zealous wind. Eager for some long-awaited date. At it, branches grapple,. Feebly slow the air,. That simply shimmers away. And optimism resumes without reward. The sky's surface skimmed by clouds,. By their tireless child,. Hostages angry or hapless. Bristles no concern,. Blogs for American Literature. Sunday, May 15, 2011. When one first reads the "Tell Tale Heart", they are instantly slammed with the thought that the narrator is mentally ill, and thus, his analysis of the incidents he took to kill the old man, whom we assume to be innocent and have been mutilated for no reason. Interestingly enough, the website that will be listed below brings a different theory to this. Or someone he didn't mind remaining in the acutal house (The story never states the the narrator is ...
