Dancing in the Rain. 8220;Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”. 8211; Arthur Ashe. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. As a caregiver people often ask "how can I help? In considering the answer(s) to that question, I decided to poll other caregivers and professionals in the caregiving industry to see what was on their Caregiving Wish List. Here are the results:. 1 If possible, come visit with the patient so the care-partner can have a break. 1 Help that helps. 2 Support that comforts. 5 Spa Da...

Donderdag 18 juni 2015.

Writing Down the Bones
Things My Kids Say. Writing Down the What? Sunday, August 16, 2015. Part of my new goal of putting myself first meant that I chose to spend my birthday weekend in Victoria without my kids. I don't like to be away from them on special occassions but it was the right decision for me. And really it was a bonus for me in the end because I got to milk an extra day of brithday celebrations out of them. And it was special indeed.truly made with love. I heard it! Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Sisterly Love - Part 2.

Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Twenty years ago I began working out, starting with short bursts of pedaling a stationary bike (the only activity I could do for 10 minutes), then progressing to intervals on the Stairmaster and runs along Victory Memorial Parkway in Minneapolis where I lived. Within three or four months, I was hooked, committed to a regular schedule of sweating. I bought sports bras and a fine pair of Reebok cross-trainers. Fortified and confident and slow to excite—my resting pulse was v...

Writing, Running, and Reality | Reflections on Trusting the Process
Writing, Running, and Reality. Reflections on Trusting the Process. March 10, 2013 in Finishing. I just finished the Run for the Zoo 5K! It was a cold, windy morning and I had one of my best runs ever. I ran the whole thing, I stayed positive, and I improved my time by over 2 minutes. Not bad and against the wind. I feel great! The race felt different today. I’m stronger than I thought I was. I have more stamina. I’ve had trouble motivating myself lately: feeling weak, tired, negativenot want...It’s amaz...

Write...Run...Repeat... | Your daily dose of ULTRA!
Write…Run…Repeat…. Your daily dose of ULTRA! For Teachers / Librarians. As usual, I hated every minute of it. I ran the North Face Endurance Challenge the other day. A fifty mile race, up and down Blue Mountain, in 40 degree humidity. It was a punishing course, on a punishingly hot day. 100 or so runners struggled up 800 feet of elevation gain in the very first kilometer. Stupidly, I forgot to take my salt pills, and by 2 pm, after 9 hours of running, my mind had turned to oatmeal. 8220;I’m sorry? The en...
