Http:/ www.margaretwarner.com. N 1999 I did a course on writing for children, with Marg McAlister. Marg is a wonderful teacher and a constant source of inspiration. Many of the other writers who did the course continue to keep in touch by email network. It is great to have other friends who share a common interest. We support each other in many ways. We buy books from each other. We offer advice and help. The people in the network are scattered all over Australia, in every state and territory.

The Truth has set me Free →. Living with a Ghost. March 25, 2012. A few weeks ago I went to view a rental property but although the key fitted the lock, it would not open. I and the other hopeful tenant could not look around. Two days later that same key worked but the other person could not make the viewing. I entered the premises and instantly felt an icy presence. Could I live with this entity? With no other rentals available, did I really have an option? Soon afterwards, some friends arrived with smu...

Competition Reminder →. Now for something completely different…. October 7, 2011. It’s great when the writing just flows, as if from nowhere, but even better is when it flows from the heart. There’s the old adage, ‘write about what you know’ but equally true is write about what you feel. An artist friend of mine, Gillian Gorrie, took the manuscript and came up with a fantastic cover design. Let me know what you think! Between editing sessions, we’ve been tossing around some ideas for the cover. Here’s the latest! 2 responses to “ Behind the Scenes. February 2, 2011 at 10:22 am. YA Book Review: Phoenix, by Alison Ashley. Reviewed by Sally Murphy, Aussie reviews. First in a wonderful new series. I tried to respond but my mouth wouldn’t form words and the letter said it all anyway. I felt like meringue floating in an ocean, like I was dissolving, hot like molten sugar, cold like the sea. Fighting the inevitable was futile. I tried to extract the note from my pocket but my strength had gone. I closed my eyes and let my body drift on the bobbing tide. The way you described the chara...

CYA Conference 10th Sept 2011. Now for something completely different… →. October 4, 2011. I’ve been procrastinating over my final study assignment for a couple of months, it being the examination one and all, but I finally realised that until I actually sat down and finished it, I won’t be able to get on with achieving my goals. Procrastination tossed into the rubbish bin, I dug out my assignment and focused. Three hours later, the job was done and to my absolute amazement, I actually enjoyed it. Addres...
