Writing the Ship

Thursday, November 10, 2011. Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Cars, Vans, Winter. I didn't blog much this summer, and now it's November. Winter has me consistently feeling nostalgic, and there's this constant sense of deja vu anytime I smell the air before it starts to rain and feel the cold breeze against my skin. Here are some pictures from my travels - the ones that don't involve food or messing around. Those will come later. Atlanta, D.C. Monday, September 12, 2011. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Writing the Ship: Stacks Pancake House

http://writing-the-ship.blogspot.com/2011/06/stacks-pancake-house.html

Thursday, June 23, 2011. Chocolate and strawberry pancakes could end wars - at least I think so. These are from Stacks Pancake House in Hoboken, NJ. The restaurant is awesome, but sadly my sister, my cousin and I couldn't get out door seating. It was just too packed! They give you cornbread before your meal as if I needed a carb before a carb overload. Surprisingly, these pancakes still tasted good even if I took half of them home and them later that night. I'm obsessed with the vintage filters!

Writing the Ship: Going to Coney Island

http://writing-the-ship.blogspot.com/2011/07/going-to-coney-island.html

Thursday, July 28, 2011. Going to Coney Island. A couple of weeks ago I headed over to Coney Island to hang out at the beach, eat cheese fries, and take some pictures for the album art of Candy Hearts' new record. The band came with me because it was my birthday and walking around Coney Island alone is kind of.sad? I would have been okay with it either way since the boys wouldn't let me go on the actual beach because they didn't want to get sand in their shoes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Writing the Ship: Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

http://writing-the-ship.blogspot.com/2011/09/sunday-sunday-sunday-sunday.html

Monday, September 12, 2011. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. I don't really know what to say after so many months of not blogging so I'll break the awkward pause with these photos from brunch at La Bonbonniere in the West Village and hangouts in a Brooklyn backyard. Yeah, I said brunch. Apparently people are awake on Sunday mornings - albeit mostly young families or couples, but who knew? Everything about this post is making me second guess how I sound, so forgive me if I sound pretentious or lameee.

dave mcnamara's tunes.: "gigantic"

http://davemcnamaratunes.blogspot.com/2010/11/gigantic.html

Sunday, November 28, 2010. Straight little sparse pop tune. some cool pan automation, the harmony vocals always either converge or diverge depending on the part. there's a guitar lead with very silly panning, alternating hard-panned phrases. this song is not that much fun to talk about, instead you should listen to it:. dave mcnamara's tunes.: "burn"

http://davemcnamaratunes.blogspot.com/2010/12/burn.html

Saturday, December 4, 2010. This is a cover of the (now defunct? S tune "burn"- it's a sweet song, check out that minor third over the major chord in the chorus! Tried to do mostly outboard stuff in this recording, there's EQ and a bit of pitch spreading on the vocals, but the rest is mostly clean. i'm into micing un-amplified electric basses right now, and mixing that sound with the DI gets a real punchy upright-ish tone. Let me know what you think? Posted by Dave McNamara. April 12, 2013 at 4:18 PM.

dave mcnamara's tunes.: "georgia"

http://davemcnamaratunes.blogspot.com/2010/10/georgia.html

Thursday, October 7, 2010. My heart's in country. this tune's a jangly little anthem that's giving me a bunch of trouble with the mix. i'm pretty happy with everything at this point save for the levels of the harmony vocals in the chorus. they're either inaudible or they're eating up the main track, no matter what i've tried so far. as far as comparisons go, i'd say it's inspired by the band and some 80s kristofferson. Posted by Dave McNamara. October 14, 2010 at 12:51 AM. I can dig it. Check me out on:.

Writing the St. Marys

Writing the St. Marys. Sunday, 15 July 2012. Three Fish Stories, by Mark Murray. When I was a young boy around ten years old, my grandfather would come home with lots of fish. He would tell us children his stories of where and how he had caught those fish. I was always fascinated with his stories.
