Writing In The Kitchen. Cherry Loaf Cake – And A New Foodie Blog Hop! Recently my new foodie friend Martyna posted her recipe for delicious homemade cherry ripe bites which arrived promptly in my inbox. I read through it and wanted it instantly; although I've never eaten Cherry Ripe before, it sounds like the sort of chocolate I'd love. Besides, her other favourite chocolate…. Writing In The Kitchen. Lemon Roast Chicken with Pumpkins and Potatoes. I honestly didn't plan on having a dinner party a couple of days ago. Mid-week dinner parties are never the best idea, I think, and it ends up becoming a stressful affair. However, I had the perfect excuse; two friends were going to be in town that night, and I…. Writing In The Kitchen. I know I told you this before, and I’m sure you’ll get sick of hearing about it over the next few months, but – summer’s here. Even if the rising heat doesn’t get you, I guarantee that the humidity will. I am currently in the study, wearing shorts and an oversized sleeveless tank, with the air conditioning on. In here, it’s a gorgeous 18 degrees, but. It’s a horrible 33 degrees Celsius. Yes, that is 92 F. Can you say double ugh? There will also always be sorbet. Lemon Roast Chicke...

Writing In The Kitchen. The Best Hot Chocolate (White Dark). There are some days when you just need a series of comforting things. Today is one such day for me. I woke up this morning in a strangely convoluted position (well, you try sharing your bed with two cats), arranged myself properly, and then went back to sleep huddled up…. Writing In The Kitchen. I like them warm, and stacked, and soaked in syrup. I sometimes like to top them with flavoured yoghurt or eat them with butter; I even sometimes like to eat them with ice cream or topped with plain jam. Oh, and they marry beautifully with fruit. My favourite? Beetroot Pudding (Beetroot Halva). You may have just done a double take. Beetroot PUDDING, I hear you ask, with horror in your voice? Lemon Roast Chicken with Pumpkins and Potatoes. Peanut Butter Fudge {No Stove Method}.

Not Just Pretty – Awanthi Vardaraj
http://awanthi.com/2015/04/01/not-just-pretty
Writing in the Kitchen. Post By: Awanthi Vardaraj. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be told I was pretty. I think it came from a place of not being. Sure; it came from a place of wanting to be told that I was more than I was, somehow. I’ve spoken in the past. About growing up with a beautiful mother, and about the pressure I felt as a girl, as a teenager, and as a young woman, to become my mother, or to be. Not a pretty girl. 8216;, and being contemptuous of people who both wanted to be the word ...

Writing in the Kitchen. Home / Happy Tails. Post By: Awanthi Vardaraj. Mama misses you so much. And no amount of tears, pleading with you to ‘please come back baby’, or shaking your body worked. And my bewilderment echoes in my voice. 8216;But he wasn’t ill.’. 8216;But he was only eight years old.’. 8216;But he’s never been ill a day in his life; he’s never even had an ear infection.’. Everyone else misses you, though. The kittens you adored so much, and whom you were so gentle with, do miss you....8th O...

Writing in the Kitchen. Post By: Awanthi Vardaraj. It’s finally happened. Writing in the Kitchen. Grief is a many-feathered thing. Grief is a many-feathered thing. Post By: Awanthi Vardaraj. There’s nothing straightforward about grief. There’s no set rule for you to follow. Past experiences are useless, because each loss is different. Pain is unique, and it is a million times worse when you don’t understand why you have to experience it. Grief is a many-feathered thing. You don’t want to go on, but you do anyway. I didn’t want to go on, but I did anyway. 8220;I can’t beg...

And, when you stumble, keep faith. And, when you’re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can’t or you shouldn’t go on.” — Hillary Rodham Clinton. Her next question was also one she’d clearly been thinking about for a while. ‘How old is America? 8216;How old is India? After my little neighbour...

Wonderful You – Awanthi Vardaraj
http://awanthi.com/2016/03/18/wonderful-you
Writing in the Kitchen. Post By: Awanthi Vardaraj. People are noticing; they are talking about how I am becoming, evolving, growing, into myself; finding things I lost; remembering the person I used to be before I was gone, before I slipped into the abyss. When I would giggle too much and for no reason about everything and nothing, and when my eyes were constantly laughing because my soul was free. When I stepped out into the world feeling absolutely sure of my place in it. It was so long ago. And you ar...

Jenny Alexander's blog: Writing in the House of Dreams | Creative dreaming, creative writing
Jenny Alexander's blog: Writing in the House of Dreams. Got 20 minutes a day? August 8, 2015. Several months ago, I put a call-out via my newsletter for volunteers to test my new writing app and, having taken their feedback on board and made various adjustments, I’m happy to report that. Is now available in the Apple store. I’m slightly equivocal about – but focuses it so that, after 28 days, instead of a heap of random jottings, you end up with a finished and redrafted story. Writing a short story.

Writing in the Light Publishing. Song of the Sword. When I was younger, I loved reading good fantasy books that not only gripped my attention but taught me something in a natural way. The problem was, I could find very few such books; most fiction either being secular or stiff and preachy. And so I decided to write. Create a free website. Song of the Sword.
Writing in the Margins | Self-Care, Self-Discovery, Self-Expression
Writing in the Margins. Self-Care, Self-Discovery, Self-Expression. Writing in the Margins – it means a lot of different things. Writing from marginalized identities. Editing the current story. Making space and taking up space on the edges. Writing our own stories. Narrating our own truths. Writing ourselves into being, and into being whole. Seeing what is already present within us, and giving it voice and form. Writing in the Margins is about to reveal some big changes!
