The Heart and Craft of Life Writing: What Is TRUTH?
http://heartandcraft.blogspot.com/2015/07/what-is-truth_30.html
Tips, guidelines and insights on all facets of life writing. Writing for the Health of It. Nine years ago as I pulled together the material that became. The Heart and Craft of Lifestory Writing. I thought I knew the answer to that question, what is truth: It's what really happened, or what you really think. It's basic honesty, plain and simple. Everybody knows that, right? Perception is personal and situational. A bomb exploded in my self-absorbed brain. Could my hair be that bad? Mayhem at Camp RYLA.

Barb Bits: Spring Snapshots
http://barbbits.blogspot.com/2015/05/spring-snapshots.html
Sunday, May 10, 2015. Photo by Barbara Toboni. The sun’s embrace triggering one’s shoulders to unwind. Windows so clean I can’t tell if I am standing inside or outside. Hummingbird playing in the spray of my sprinklers. Dazzling orange lilies and pink frilled azaleas blooming on my back porch. Tabby cat scratching her back in the pebbled dust of the vegetable garden. A fragrant fusion of rose, lavender, and jasmine while out for a stroll. And hung out on a line to dry. Snacking on a ripe, creamy, avocado.

Barb Bits: October 2014
http://barbbits.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 25, 2014. When our bookcase toppled in the earthquake we piled books in a spare room and studied the empty area left in the hallway. Why buy a new case and set it up against old paint and flooring, so we painted the wall and thought about a new floor. But why stop there? The kitchen floor is on the schedule for replacement next year. We should replace it now so it matches the floor under the new bookcase. But why stop there? But why stop there? But why stop there? OOPS, HOLD EVERYTHING.

A Napa Writer's Open Door. November 7, 2011. Alice sat alone in the boat, the sun drying her skin to leather. Her roommates evidently felt no need to see she was entertained while they enjoyed the Maui waters. “You’ll love snorkeling,” they’d assured her. But they were wrong. Alice hated anything to do with being in water, other than showers, of course. “Sure […]. Read more →. Gardens of the Past. WE Writers of Napa Valley. Xochi E. Dixon. A Napa Writer's Open Door. Gardens of the Past. June 25, 2012. Our twin hydrangeas are flourishing now that the weather is kind. Recently, the gardener moved one of them from where it spread across the back fence, to a shady spot under our bedroom window. Tucked into a protected corner, the plant has grown a foot or more since its arrival. Now the two hydrangeas […]. Read more →. Gardens of the Past. WE Writers of Napa Valley. Xochi E. Dixon. Do Overs — A Napa Writer's Open Door

A Napa Writer's Open Door. By Patsy Ann Taylor. December 10, 2011. What was once my future is now my past. Writing Memoir lets me relive parts of my life. The well-meaning weren’t always right. Had I obeyed, how would I have known the thrill of swinging with my knees locked around a tree branch? Jumping off the playhouse roof, throwing rocks and hitting what I aimed for. Sometimes blood was involved. Mine or my brother’s. Bruises, sprained ankles, dirty knees and elbows, ripped hems....Reading my aunt...
