Writing Through Time

http://writingthroughtime.com/comment-page-1

My name is Lauren Conrad and I write historical fiction. I am currently working on a novel set between London, New York City, and the Atlantic Ocean immediately after the American Revolutionary War. I have written one other novel set in a 1760s London coffee house. I am a member of the Historical Novelist Society. I attended their 2016 conference in Oxford, England and I will be at the 2017 conference in Portland, Oregon. One thought on “ About Me. Love you. Nana Banana. September 13, 2012 at 3:52 am.

Day-to-Day Thoughts – Writing Through Time

http://writingthroughtime.com/historical-fiction/day-to-day-thoughts-of-a-historical-fiction-writer

Only a historical novelist would think about these things on a day-to-day basis:. My character wants to hug another character. I can’t say hug. Do I use the word embrace? How hard is it to tie a stay or a corset in the back by yourself? How would a poor widow with no female companions or maids do it? Will readers doubt me when my poor characters eat oysters? They were for the poor back then. How many research books can an NYC apartment hold? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

London for Less – Writing Through Time

http://writingthroughtime.com/travel/london-for-less

How to Take a Trip to London for Less. And how you can, too. I went in January. I stayed at a hostel. I spent as little as possible on meals. I walked and visited free museums. It may come as a shock, but London is chock-full of cheap activities for tourists. Major museums like the Museum of London and the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery are free. Smaller, private museums usually cost a few pou. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

News Media and Events. Monthly Archives: July 2015. Wednesday’s Writing & Words. July 29, 2015. Having recently relocated to the beautiful state of Kentucky I have come across some words and phrases that I’ve never heard before. Today’s word of the week is one that I find fun and interesting. My daughter first told me this word and I thought she was making it up. I mean who has ever heard of catawampus? Doesn’t that sound like a totally made up word? Word of the Week. Chiefly Midland and Southern U.S.

News Media and Events. Wednesday’s Writing & Words. August 12, 2015. From Fairytales to Fiction. Besides being the only books laying around to read, I quickly fell in love with the genre. Romance novels seem to get a bad rap more than likely because of the sex scenes. I’m sure the covers don’t help elevate the genre either. I mean who can take a book seriously when the covers depict handsome, muscular guys with no shirts on, ripping the dress off of a beautiful ladies? Creating Obstacles to Overcome.
