Friday, December 10, 2004. My thoughts on the books 'flow'. This is my first blog, and I wish I had blogged earlier because this whole process seems really helpful. Or have another perspective on it? Chasing Writing Zen: December 2004
http://zenenglish.blogspot.com/2004_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 11, 2004. Does anyone else get inspired to work late at night? Posted by Virginia @ 2:22 AM. There were parts in ZMM which, when I was reading them, made me feel so alive. I felt creative and I wanted to write like Pirsig. I was always so dissapointed when the book got boring for me, and I kept thinking, "Why can't Pirsig make this interesting? Why can't he write this part like he does the others? What was it like and when did it happen? Posted by johanna @ 1:34 AM. I do not even think...

Chasing Writing Zen: His life before
http://zenenglish.blogspot.com/2004/12/his-life-before.html
Friday, December 03, 2004. Regarding the above, the "unexplained and wrong" refers to the therapy Pirsig's character had to go through to rid of Phaedrus? Pirsig says to DeWeese that he is "not the same person at all" (p160) and DeWeese is "a little more at ease". DeWeese is not so positive about Phaedrus, but Jack Barsness "was supportive of Phaedrus" because of all the ideas that Phaedrus has. I don't think we will ever know for sure. Chasing Writing Zen: Twentieth-Century Lunacy
http://zenenglish.blogspot.com/2004/11/twentieth-century-lunacy.html
Thursday, November 25, 2004. Pirsig is looked as a madman because he questions assumed rationality itself, as it is accepted by society. In Page 82 of ZMM the narrator says that "everyday acts . seem mad because of their irrelevance to anything else." He goes on to point out the madness in everyday thinking when he states that the "purpose of life, which is to keep alive, is impossible," yet done anyways. Posted by Viscount @ 11:38 AM. Chasing Writing Zen: November 2004
http://zenenglish.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 29, 2004. Pirsig Thinks Too Much. I don’t like Pirsig’s character in the novel, although he talks about the positive things all the time. He is like a priest who brings a lesson to the audiences, but does something opposite in real life. For example, he treats John badly. He exposes John’s weak points continually in the book, but he never tries to help his friend correct these problems. Does a good person have to do that? Posted by Zhao, Yibo @ 7:26 PM.
