Written In Chalk: Pluck Fill Spill

http://writteninchalk.blogspot.com/2014/04/pluck-fill-spill.html

I should probably be doing something else but I am out here blogging. Thursday, April 17, 2014. This was originally written to an old friend. I decided to share. I often stand in front of the new poetry section at the library. I read their titles, their names on their binding like breath taking form on ribs. I wait for the shelves to breathe so they can expand, open, and spill all their words into the air as a million whispers, laughs, cries, and screams. I rarely pluck one out. I should probably be doing something else but I am out here blogging. Thursday, January 17, 2013. When I look into a mirror I do not always see the lines and curves, the jaw and chin, the stained teeth and the little hairs sprouting where they need not be. Sometimes when I look into the mirror I see beyond the face, the eyes, and the lips. Instead I see into space so vast and full that the entire universe fits behind my pupil. I should probably be doing something else but I am out here blogging. Thursday, April 25, 2013. I just began to read "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. I literally just finished the introduction when I became aware of words in my mind. As soon as I became aware of them they ceased and began to fade fast. I immediately wrote them down in the front of the book. I had nowhere else to write in the short amount of time the words passed through. Somewhere along the lighted pool expands thought.".

http://writteninchalk.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html

I should probably be doing something else but I am out here blogging. Thursday, June 29, 2006. A little bit about our road trip. Duff (no capitalization per her consistent request over the years) came up to Bozeman last week. I picked her up at the airport with her favorite Taco Johns awaiting her in the car. We ate the (by that time) mushy tacos in an inexpensive hotel room where we found ourselves chatting face to face, over the usual multi-colored bedspread, for the first time in six years. Pieces of ...

I should probably be doing something else but I am out here blogging. Sunday, February 25, 2007. Door to Door for EWB. I spent yesterday afternoon slipping and sliding on driveways, playing with neighborhood dogs and going door to door asking for donations. This is not a normal Saturday afternoon activity for me. I was lucky to have an experienced member of the group show me the ropes and explain the project to people in a clear and concise manner. Wednesday, February 07, 2007. Not slightly burning- oh n...

Fidelity: November 2005

http://travisnorton.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 02, 2005. I'm amazed at how strong our desire to share ourselves with others is. We really do want to be known. I need to spend more time in my Bible studies giving people the opportunity to share of themselves. Next time though, I want to make sure that they also have the opportunity to let scripture shape thier understandings too. I'm very humbled by my job tonight. Posted by Travis at 8:33 PM. Tuesday, February 21, 2006. Fellowship of the Mat. It's an amazing privilege to be subject to the work of the Spirit and a very humbling position. My prayer is that God will increase in me a sensitivity to the Spirit's work that I would move quickly when He nudges. Posted by Travis at 4:28 PM. Wednesday, February 15, 2006. http://travisnorton.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 24, 2005. Why do folks think that their ministry is somehow less when they're not ordained, or maybe more accurately why do they think that I would look down on them. I don't think so. Posted by Travis at 8:10 PM. Sunday, September 11, 2005. I preached a sermon today where I told a very personal story about my relationship with my Dad. I wasn't sure I would tell it. I had all sorts of questions going into the sermon. Should I reveal so much about myself so publicly? I've been a pastor...

Wednesday, August 24, 2005. Am I trying to make the world too black and white or am I just defensive about Christians offering somethign better than what the world can come up with apart from Christ. Was Jesus a good leader? That's the question I"m going to be asking as I read this secular book. Would they consider Jesus a good leader according to their standards? Posted by Travis at 4:19 PM. A journey of an artist and theologian: Week 4 Inclusion Analysis

http://klhiestermanmp520.blogspot.com/2005/10/week-4-inclusion-analysis.html

A journey of an artist and theologian. Thursday, October 20, 2005. Week 4 Inclusion Analysis. I was asked by my fellow teammate, Jimmy to answer the following questions: What is a more detailed description of inclusion? What exactly does inclusion look like, specific examples? And as mentioned before, where is inclusion limited and what can we do to circumvent those limitations when they occur? And how did the ‘inviters’ get in? Finally, who is doing the excluding? The author is an advocate saying that w...

A journey of an artist and theologian. Thursday, September 29, 2005. I like this image of Christ. So I though I would add it to my Blog for class. It gets me to think about the many portrayls of Christ and how each of them are very different from one another. The artist is Joseph Arthur, the musician. Posted by Katrina @ 4:02 PM. Written In Chocolate | Eating my way through the Big Apple

Eating my way through the Big Apple. Restaurant Week 2.0: Lunch at Nobu. August 1, 2015. As promised, it’s August 1. And we’re back up and running. It’s been more than 90 degrees for the past week with no relief, and all I want to eat is gazpacho and sushi. 1) If your schedule allows, go for lunch. It’s only $25 for three courses versus the $38 for dinner, which usually are the same three dishes. This time around my lunch schedule is more flexible, and my wallet and I are relieved. 3) Skip the wine. ...
