Sam Weller's Bookstore: Polaroid Pictures
http://samwellersbookstore.blogspot.com/2011/12/polaroid-pictures.html
New, used, out-of-print and rare books. Thursday, December 22, 2011. While cleaning the office here at Sam Weller's Books in preparation for our move to Trolley Square we found a Polaroid camera and some film (best used by March 2004). I love Polaroids. Birthday money supplemented with chore money bought my first camera, a Polaroid. It looked almost exactly like this one, except that it was a sporty red color. So I was immediately excited to start snapping photos. Frank staffing the side counter. THE CHE...

auk wrecks & ark larks: November 2006
http://aukwrecksarklarks.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Auk wrecks and ark larks. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. On zitting cisticolas and spotted pardalotes. Peterson’s guides have long been the standard, and deservedly so; you can’t go wrong spending part of your paycheck on any volume in that series. The huge popularity of birding means more bookstore shelf space devoted to the subject than ever before, and in the interest of keeping today’s post a manageable size, I’ll mention several notable entrants in the wing and beak category. Third Street Books - the blog: December 2011
http://thirdstreetbookstheblog.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Third Street Books - the blog. Tidbits and thoughts from your local bookseller. Friday, December 9, 2011. This whole Ditch Amazon Day has been interesting, to say the least. We have received much more publicity about it than I ever thought (booksellers like to share news, especially of bold moves against The Man). There have been some flubs. One news outlet listed the wrong store in their article. Another just listed that we are asking people to bring in proof that they bought. Wednesday, December 7, 2011.

Flap Copy: Post-9/11 Novels: Adding The Zero
http://flapcopy.blogspot.com/2009/09/post-911-novels-adding-zero.html
Friday, September 11, 2009. Post-9/11 Novels: Adding The Zero. There's been lots of discussion today about post-9/11 novels - which of them are good, which are bad, and which are timeless. In that final, transcendent category of literature built to last, Ian McEwan's superb Saturday. And Joseph O'Neill's lyrical Netherland. Seem to be the clear leaders, while the rest remain a mixed bag of hotly debated also-rans: Don DeLillo's Falling Man. Jay McInerney's The Good Life. And Benjamin Kunkel's Indecision.

Thursday, November 5, 2009. Staff Pick: Eating Animals. By Jonathan Safran Foer. 25% off in November. I know what you’re thinking, but this isn’t just another anti-meat book. Eating Animals. Fears to tread. Who are we trusting to feed us? Is “free-range” really what we think it is? If we are what we eat, doesn’t that make us weak, disease-prone, tortured animals? And why are we letting this happen to us? Labels: Changing Hands Bookstore. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tempe, Arizona, United States. In the b...
