Hugo stared out the backroom window. Into the night too warm for January. He shook his head. Someone bought another round. Down at Hugo’s Place. Night laid in on a hard line. Just before dawn those storms tracked through. Sheets of rain and wind and winter lightning. Snapped along the ridges and down the tight valleys.
