AndrewAndJoshua: May 2007
http://andrewvanz.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 31, 2007. My parents and my middle brother and Joshua are still trying to decide where we should go later this year, and when. However, Buckingham Palace IS open during this period, as is the Palace Of Westminster, and these venues are open to the public for only a few weeks each year. Consequently, there are advantages and disadvantages in going to London in September. I suspect that everyone will settle upon something soon. Tuesday, May 29, 2007. My nephew still does not get to eat very m...

AndrewAndJoshua: November 2006
http://andrewvanz.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 30, 2006. The Question Of Collective Guilt. Joshua and I have been discussing, in gruesome detail, the question of German collective guilt for the crimes and horrors of World War II. Every time I travel to Germany, these unpleasant issues reassert themselves, and I have been pondering these matters for the last two weeks and more. Of course, I do not approach individual Germans and inquire "And what did YOUR ancestors do during the war? But this is not a moot subject, and it may never ...

AndrewAndJoshua: March 2007
http://andrewvanz.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 31, 2007. Joshua and I seem to be awfully busy, and the winter months seem to be flying by, although I cannot say that we have been doing anything notable or remarkable. We have wound up our weekend errands, and in a short while we will go over to my parents' house to catch the two semi-final games and have dinner. We are keeping an eye on the Iowa coaching situation, and contradictory information seems to erupt every thirty seconds or so. Otherwise, I guess, we are just plugging along.

AndrewAndJoshua: June 2007
http://andrewvanz.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 30, 2007. Wagon Train, Forward Ho! Last evening, I returned safely from Baltimore, and my brothers and my older brother’s family arrived safely from New York and Denver. Today my brothers and Josh and I went to play racquetball, and then we went swimming, but otherwise we remained home all day, playing with my nephew and helping my mother get everything ready for our trip up to the lake. We three will take the dog with us. I think we will let the dog drive, as surely he knows the way by now.

AndrewAndJoshua: “For The Sun Will Rise And The Moon Will Set”
http://andrewvanz.blogspot.com/2014/01/for-sun-will-rise-and-moon-will-set.html
Wednesday, January 22, 2014. 8220;For The Sun Will Rise And The Moon Will Set”. We have now attended three different productions of the musical, “Cabaret”, in the last four years. The finest of the three productions was a Bloomington Civic Theatre production we caught in February 2013. The Bloomington presentation featured the finest stage design, and the finest orchestra, of the three “Cabaret” presentations. The Watertown production was not distinguished, but it held our interest. July 10, 2015 11:17 PM.

AndrewAndJoshua: “If In Your Emotion You Begin To Sway . . .”

Monday, February 11, 2013. 8220;If In Your Emotion You Begin To Sway . . .”. On Friday evening, my parents, my middle brother, and Joshua and I went to Bloomington to see Bloomington Civic Theatre’s production of the Kander and Ebb musical, “Cabaret”. A production of “Cabaret” will almost always get me in the door of a theater; “Cabaret” is one of the most durable and most pleasurable of musicals. My middle brother and Josh and I last saw a production of “Cabaret” exactly four years ago. Further, “...
