World War II Central

I spent some time today painting some Picoarmor that I had purchased a couple of years ago. This time I tried some different painting techniques and I used square metal bases. What do you think? Do you like the round or the square/rectangle bases better? I've been debating all day which I like better and I can't make up my mind. I think the round look cooler, but the rectangle are likely more practical for gaming. Round bases were painted a year or two ago. square bases painted today:. And I also spent s...

World War II Central: Guadalcanal Gaming Mat and 1/2400 Ships

http://wwiicentral.blogspot.com/2015/03/guadalcanal-gaming-mat-and-12400-ships.html

Guadalcanal Gaming Mat and 1/2400 Ships. It's been quite awhile since I've posted anything. I have been productive, but I've been lazy when it comes to the blog :(. Here's what I've been doing: Prototyping a new "Iron Bottom Sound" Gaming Mat for my 1/6000 Navies (which are slowly growing). I created it with and without hexes. Let me know what you think. I'm considering some other potentials too: Midway, Samar, New Georgia (and surrounding Islands), etc. The Mats are 60 inches x 40 inches. June 26, 2015 ...

Italian Cruisers, Destroyers and French CV Bearn. Here are a few 1/2400 ships painted by the Mrs. Her first Naval painting :). Let me know what you think. GHQ 1/2400 German Graf Zeppelin, Bismarck, Scharnhorst, and Prinz Eugen. Hi All. I wanted to share some 1/2400 ships that I recently finished. Also, I'm working on some new naval terrain for myself. I apologize for the poor color in the photos, but hopefully it gives you a little sneak peak. It's based on hex tiles. Let me know what you think :).

World War II Central: Warlord 28mm Plastics - Gifts from Santa

http://wwiicentral.blogspot.com/2015/01/warlord-28mm-plastics-gifts-from-santa.html

Warlord 28mm Plastics - Gifts from Santa. I don't often receive World War II related gifts for Christmas. and WWII Miniatures at that. This year however, I received some from my kids! Well technically, the money they used came from me. but that's close enough). First up for review: Warlord 28mm Plastic Infantry. I received the Blitzkrieg German Infantry Box:. And the Soviet Infantry Box:. The detail is pretty good and I love the facial expressions (with some exceptions). There are flash lines to clean up...

World War II Central: June 2014

http://wwiicentral.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Recent Painting by the Boss. The past few posts have shown off some painting that my boss (wife) has done. I've provided some color guidance, airbrush tips, and general technique advising but otherwise she's done this all on her own. Here are the latest miniatures that she has completed; they've once again turned out very nice! Let me know what you think. Panzer IV F1, T-34, KV-1, and M4 Sherman. And some Flying Tanks. Up Next. Hitler's Navy. Just wanted to post a quick teaser of my next project.

A blog that generally revolves around 6mm Micro Armor-. F-16I Sufa Project on Hold. Hope to treat you guys to the completed project sooner than later! Until then, I'll get back to these M113s so I can finish them up and move on to the Namers. So freaking excited right now. Today was a long day of working on this thing, drinking lots of dew, and smoking lots of cigarettes. Pulled everything I sculpted off the aircraft and glued it all in place. Glued the drop tanks in. No Sleep Til Sufa. Woke up today and...

A blog that generally revolves around 6mm Micro Armor-. Just a very quick and boring update. Finally have some disposable income to play with so I have ordered the paints I need to complete the Sufa. Now here's to hoping I matched the paint chips close enough to all the pictures I have poured over. I'll get the Sufa up ASAP I promise. Paints should be here by Tuesday. A blog that generally revolves around 6mm Micro Armor-. Nearing finals time and still preoccupied with several games and debates so I'm just going to post what I DO have done with the Spetsnaz so far. Primed in flat khaki spray paint from Walmart. Inked 2 parts brown 1 part black 1 part water. Khaki Grey applied to raised parts of uniform. Some details (but not all) such as guns, flesh and bags picked out. Product Review - AIM Fw-190 A3. The first Infantry division operated its own Armoured detachment during the attack phase in 1941 of the Continuation War. Some information on the detachment found at Axis History Forum. The new plastic version is probably an better starting point but it turned out ok. I basically used the same method as for my 1/100 version but with some added details. I’ll just add some pictures, hopefully they are self-explanatory. Hopefully I’ll get around to paint it up soon. On April 10, 2014. I’m also a bit ...

1st Division Armoured Detachment. T-34 destroyed at Ihantala-Kilpeenjoki road. On April 10, 2014. Recently I received the new T-26E from Warlord Games. Which is quite a nice model with crisp details and very little flash or bubbles, it also assembles quickly, there are 4 resin pieces and 5 pewter ones. However there is a major flaw with the turret hatches though, instead of a big round spilt hatch there are two smaller hatches instead, just like on the T-26 obr/39. See Andreas Lärkas site. WWII Chaplain | Information about a WWII Chaplain

Information about a WWII Chaplain. June 25, 2011. Dog tags and lapel pins. December 31, 2014. Letters from Morris E. Eson to his grandson, Ben Vigoda. Originally composed in 1991, revised April 2004. Morris Eson Bar-Mitzvah speech. November 4, 2014. I found a two page, hand written letter in Yiddish in Morris Eson’s papers. It was old and yellow and it has been on my list of mysteries to solve for some time now. Why did he keep it so long? When was it written? Who was it from and to? What did it say?
