A Kid Lit Blog. Monday, March 9, 2015. Children's Literature Conference 2015. Last weekend I attended the Children's Literature Conference. At Western Washington University in Bellingham. This year the speakers were Kate DiCamillo, Joyce Sidman, Matt de la Peña, and Yuyi Morales. It was such an inspiring event.can I just pull a Wayne and Garth and bow to all the organizers and presenters? I even received this certificate for attending. Kudos to Nancy for signing like 600 of them! Wow What a turnout!

Unhealthy obsessions of a poor college student. 01:49 pm October 20th, 2010. It's been a long time since a book has come out that's gotten me really excited. But there are some titles that are out or coming soon that actually make me want to run out to a books store right this minute. John Belushi is Dead. Once upon a time there was a girl who was special. This is not her story. Unless you count the part where I killed her. I love love love love loved Lauren Oliver's debut novel, Before I Fall, and so I'...

Unhealthy obsessions of a poor college student. 05:03 pm October 18th, 2010. I think I have it. And on Friday I was road tripping to Seattle with some friends and we were listening to the new New Medicine album and the song Little Sister came on. Overall, it's a very good song, however, the chorus repeats Do your wings fit good? Over and over again and it drives me insane. 30 Days of Picture Books. Resources for Diverse Kidlit. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Review - The Crossover by Kwame Alexander. The book in question is the winner of the Newbery medal this year, Kwame Alexander. This book was kind of revolutionary as a win for lots of reasons - sports! Take any one of those items on its own, no biggie. But put all of that together in one book and you have a dark horse that still swept the big prize, and very deservedly so. Links to this post. WLMA 2007 Conference: Post-Conference Wrap-up #1
http://wlmaconference.blogspot.com/2007/10/post-conference-wrap-up-1.html
Washington Library Media Association conference blog - Yakima, WA - October 11, 12, 13. Monday, October 15, 2007. I also had the pleasure of hearing Judy Schachner speak at Saturday's lunch. What a bundle of energy! I enjoy knowing how a book is created and how the author/illustrator came up with their ideas. If you attended an author/illustrator presentation, please feel free to leave a comment below sharing your thoughts. Posted by WLMA Conference. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
