I think every one gets buzz from there first wheatear of the year and for me this was nearest I've been to one so a little more special The closer the bird the better the photo! As for black redstarts another cracking bird. There is 3 at ferry lane , rainham. This female was the first I photographed . On the patch last year I struggled with migrants nothing in the spring and only 2 wheatears in the autumn .This spring has been my best year so far, yesterday 10 wheatear and a female redstart, last weekend 5 wheatear and male redstart and today a cracking male whinchat .
