The Joys of Reading. Life in a Hut. Danielle's Peace Corps Adventure in Niger. Below are some of the fun and interesting facts I discovered while living in Niger and South Africa. Enjoy! Ø Children are completely desensitized to flies, as they have no problem letting flies sit in their eyes and mouths. Ø Niger’s definition of food security is a grain bank! Ø Niger’s version of a sleigh ride is a donkey cart pulled through sand. Ø It is perfectly normal to have visitors arrive at one’s home as early as 6am.
