6x6 oil on gessoed panel. This painting was done for the Daily Paintworks Challenge. Artist were challenged to do a value study using a black and white photo of their pet and paint in color. On this particular day when I took the photo, Griff was stalking birds in the backyard and drooling at the mouth. I will always c...

Second Shift: Say Uncle
http://katharineengh.blogspot.com/2015/03/say-uncle.html
Oil Paintings by Katharine Engh. Thursday, March 12, 2015. Kickin' it Anacortes style. A charcoal sketch of my Uncle Bill wearing his cool hat and shades. This is from a reference photo I took a couple of years ago while visiting that fair town. Just a quick sketch to loosen up and get working on some golf sketches. This young man, I think he is all of 12 years old, could really hit the ball. (14 x 17). Posted by Katharine Engh. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Please visit my new website!

Second Shift: Mission at San Juan Capistrano
http://katharineengh.blogspot.com/2015/04/mission-at-san-juan-capistrano.html
Oil Paintings by Katharine Engh. Sunday, April 19, 2015. Mission at San Juan Capistrano. I found out yesterday that membership to the San Juan Capistrano Mission is tax deductible. Right after that I set up my easel and found out I forgot my palette. But I had two water buckets with me, so I used one as a palette and limited my colors to yellow ochre and burn sienna (burnt orange). Next time.who knows what will happen - I can take all year to find out! Posted by Katharine Engh. Labels: 8 x 8.
