A Week spent on the wonderful Isle of Mull staying at Hideaway Lodges in Gruline over looking the River Ba and Loch na Keal also Ben Moore giving a real nice back drop for stunning views. Most days we took time out to go and watch and photograph the Eagles but they never would fly for us when we got some blue sky so all photo's where with a rubbish background as you will see in the pics.

Sunday, 17 July 2011. Isle of Mull 9/16-7-11. A Week spent on the wonderful Isle of Mull staying at Hideaway Lodges in Gruline over looking the River Ba and Loch na Keal also Ben Moore giving a real nice back drop for stunning views. The 3rd morning we were walking along the loch watching the Otter and flushed the female Eagle from a roadside perch which I just thought was a heron taking flight until I seen her about 20ft in front of us,if only we spotted her in the pine tree. Isle of Mull 9/16-7-11.

Saturday, 28 May 2011. Algarve Portugal 15th - 26th May. Our latest trip saw Mandy and Myself jetting off to Portugal for a 11 Days of Birding. Hope you enjoy reading and a big thanks to my partner Mandy for arranging it,as it was a new place for herself as well.A Brilliant trip with plenty of new birds seen and a total of 108 Species seen which we think is good due to us both not being able to drive. With it being a nice afternoon I thought I would go and enjoy a walk around the local reserve,and try for the Barn Owls again but must have been a bit windy for them,but I did enjoy watching the Marsh Harriers around Ness pit with at least 100 Swallows and Sand Martin and a brief view of a Bearded tit as it flew in to the reeds before it started pinging. The Gannets again put on a show collecting grass from the cliff top we then made our way back to the centre for a coffee and food,whilst we sat photographing Linnets and watching the Tree Sparrows with time passing and people leaving we headed down towards staple newk viewpoint at the southern end of the reserve where more Gannets on the cliff tops gathering nest material.
