Teenagerie: Recontextualizing (or Rejecting?) the Bikini Bod
http://www.teenagerie.com/2011/03/recontextualizing-or-rejecting-bikini.html
March 26, 2011. Flew down to Texas over my spring break for SXSW. And to do some general traveling. Having come from Chicago, the warm weather is an intensely welcome change. Nice weather, though, means less clothes. I've never been hugely self-concious about my body, but wearing fewer clothes, no matter what size you are, tends to make you think more about what you look like. As women, we are conditioned to regard our bodies in an aesthetic sense. This is evident in the content of, um, every. Semi-rando...

The absurdness of a universe without meaning - From the Doghouse
http://eloieli.livejournal.com/74223.html
The absurdness of a universe without meaning. Jan 10th, 2009 at 10:43 PM. As context for this post I read an excellent history of atheism called. The Twilight of Atheism. Recently (while I was in Sydney) and I have been mulling it over ever since. One of the main things that really stands out to me is the the absurdity of the view that there is no meaning in the universe. Dawkins is a strident atheist and makes a fairly loud (though) logically flawed argument for it in. It's meaningless because there is ...

Operation Kumquat: kaosians
http://kaosians.livejournal.com/292441.html
So, after 7 years, here's the photos from Operation Kumquat, without a doubt one of the largest Pacifist Warfare battles KAOS has ever been in. Having edited this gallery; synchronizing the timestamps on the photos from 5 different cameras, sorting it by time, and then with the astute assistance of. Editing it down from about 700 photographs to 310; I can see why nobody else had ever done it. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post. Moving to Dreamwidth [Sticky Post]. Dec 26th, 2012 at 12:46 PM. LJ completely screwed up. One of the main things I'd been paying them for. And are in the process of breaking another. And not a lot of my friends post here any more any way. I've taken my money and my posting to Dreamwidth. Public entries at least will still be cross-posted back to LJ - I'm not sure if that will work for friends-locked entries. [Edit: testing says yes, for now]. See you on the flip side. Dec 30th, 2016 at 10:53 PM. Politica...

48 Hour party music: kaosians
http://kaosians.livejournal.com/294672.html
48 Hour party music. This my annual call to the KAOS massive to tell me what they want to hear played at the 48. What I'd like you to do is mention some tracks you'd like to dance to, on the understanding that I'm actually kind of bored playing the same old stuff that I play at every other party and would dearly like to inject some of The New into the mix. Admittedly, the 48 is one of the two big KAOS Alumni meet ups, and is, perhaps, not the best. Assume that I'll play Basshunter, Muse and Lady Gaga.

Some recent Flickr galleries:. New Year's Eve at The Resort. Still to come: the Naval Battle on the Avon that happened in the new year. I have a lot of photos and need to reduce the set down to something interesting. Also, first party and AFP (and Frisbee tournaments of no interest to KAOS folks). Post a new comment.
