A meta analysis means that Dimatteo (2004) compiled research from 122 differnt studies.However meta analysis is not necessarily a valid methodology because publication bias can occur from skewed data and the researcher is restricted in what research they can use as it must be quantitative for a meta analysis to be conducted. A more obvious issue with volunteer samples is that they are far less generalisable that random sampling methods but they are infinitely more practical and cheaper. 16/10/2011 at 11:29 am.
