The days have been warm and we've been trying our hardest to get out and enjoy the sunshine! Sunday, Mason challenged me to take a photo of him that was in focus while he was riding his bike. Pffttt. He must think I'm some kind of amateur. Okay, so the focus is a bit softer on my subject than I prefer, but out of focus? Posted by Mason Fleske. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). the fleskes: The Amazing Callie
http://fleske.blogspot.com/2011/01/amazing-callie.html
The family packed up a few weeks ago and headed west for Christmas – Callie included. This would be Callie's first car ride longer than 6 hours, and I was a little nervous. She and Mason snuggled and slept well on the first leg of our trip and entertained themselves well on the second. Whew! Callie was definitely in her element in Central Kansas. She had fields to run in, cats to chase and Grandpa to love on her. She was in heaven. I think she already misses the farm. Posted by Mason Fleske.

Our Neighbors Have the Coolest Stuff! Our neighbor has 3 children: 2 teenaged boys and a daughter who is a few years older than Mason. Mason plays at their house on a daily basis. Sometimes he brings home things the two boys have outgrown and sometimes he brings home a crafting project. Sometimes, he bursts through the door and insists I come over to take a look at what's going on outside. The hornets buzzed around me as I snapped a few photos, but didn't seem alarmed that I was there. Whew! I was able t...

Miss Allison took Mason and Clive to the Farmer's Market in Duluth yesterday. Does anyone have any idea what this is? Posted by Mason Fleske. July 4th, 2010: A day in history. Yes, every day is considered a day in history. Perhaps better verbiage might be, "July 4, 2010: A day in Fleske history." As you can see, Mason got his first driving lesson over the long weekend. I must admit that he did rather well for a rookie driver and off they all rode into the sunset. Child, man and dog. Scary stuff.

The birthday fairies were good to me this year! I got one of the coolest gadgets from my parents-in-law. I will be posting more about that at a later time. For now, I want to talk about the gift Brian got me! I'm a camera geek. No, really. Even though I don't always have the latest and greatest camera gear, adding a waterproof camera to my repertoire has been on my radar for quite some time. Besides, who doesn't need a photo of their kid under water? Super fun AND super handy, yes? Posted by Mason Fleske.

Am I talking to myself? Posted by Mason Fleske. I received a Zoku popsicle maker for my birthday this year and so far, we've had some interestingly flavored popsicles: strawberry/pineapple, blueberry, blackberry/pineapple and regular strawberry. I bought a honeydew at Publix last week and it was tasty, but a bit overripe and squishy. Solution: make popsicles, of course! Eating an entire popsicle is really difficult and, when he couldn't finish his, Mason offered it to Callie. And she ate the whole thing!

The 1st Beach Trip of the Season. Mason and I drove to Dothan, Alabama to spend one last weekend with my sister before her move to Iowa. She's northward bound to do her residency for the next 5 years and she wanted one last hoorah at the beach before slipping into the depths of perpetual cold up north. Posted by Mason Fleske. Mackenzie is an amazing dog! She wasn't sure about the camera. But warmed up to the idea with a little help from a squeaky toy and a command from Mack, her owner. Mack, will you...
