Most of the time UML modellers are left to their own devices after their training is complete. Often their experience remains within the manner of use in the organizations they work and never expands beyond the ordinary to the truly useful, the magical and the wondrous. I have been a UML modeller, trainer, student and occasional abuser of the UML language since its inception in 1997. Despite this I remain a great fan of the notation and hope to share some of my enthusiasm with you.
