Be Our Guest: So what will it cost?

http://yachtjura-be-our-guest.blogspot.com/2007/04/so-what-will-it-cost.html

Sunday, August 19, 2007. So what will it cost? It will cost you your plane tickets and a share of the food expenses and that’s about it. Please understand we are on a very tight budget and eating out at restaurants will quickly exceed our budget. Also Jura is byo alcohol! Mainly cause we are alcohol illiterate and wouldn’t know what to buy. Posted by Peter and Kylie Vaiciurgis. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Thursday, February 5, 2009. Heres some info I have gathered for travel to, from and within Tonga and Fiji. For the most part of the time we are in Tonga we will be in the north island group Vavau. Alternatively I have found a motor vessel that travels between the islands. Sydney to Nuku lofa, Tongatapu Group from $245pp Pacific Blue (Mon Thurs). Posted by Peter and Kylie ...

Our Journal: Peak hour

http://yachtjura-our-journal.blogspot.com/2009/10/peak-hour.html

Sunday, October 4, 2009. Weather: slightly overcast and cool. Location: Baie Nord (22 20.033 S,166 52.673 E). Someone once said you dont notice something until it is gone. Although this may almost always be the case, we did not notice certain things were missing until they returned. For example there have been next to no bird sounds in either Tonga or Fiji but here in New Caledonia there is a symphony each day and evening and it is so relaxing to listen to it from the shores, cabin or hammock.

As you may have read our sailmail and navigation laptop died last week. What a pain! We have loaded the software onto my laptop and it is working reasonably well. Unfortunately it means we have lost the last message we sent to the blog and have no idea what we wrote. With all the food aboard we had a beautiful curry dinner in Nadi. We or...

Juno

The travels of Juno. Saturday, 25 July 2015. Saturday, 18 July 2015. Silver threads of rain glisten in the glow of our deck lights as we ghost into Port Resolution bay. It is pitch black with no moon. We follow the waypoints on our chart to take us between the reefs and into the shelter of this deeply indented bay.  . 160;It is very unsettling anchoring in a shallow bay at night with no ambient light and reefs and shoals on all sides.  I kill the engine and the silence is profound.  .
