Designed by C&C and built in Newport, California in 1973 she is, as the name implies, 41' (12.4M) long. At the time she was classified as a "racer/cruiser", meaning she's tough enough to sail the oceans of the world and fast enough to win an occasional Wednesday night race around the cans. And, since we've gotten this far we figure why not just keeping going.all the way around.

Adventures in a 26' Wooden Gaff Cutter. Katla is a 26ft Wooden. Built by Martin Lund in 2006 of the. Wynfall design by Mark Smaalders. Built of Mahogany planks over sawn Pine frames. The planks are fastened with Stainless Steel (316) screws and the frames are glued and fastened using wooden pegs and Galvanised bolts. Before painting, all wood was treated with a mixture of Turpentine, Pine Oil and Cuprinol. There are no through hull fittings and a water tight bulkhead under the cockpit. LOA: 26' - 5".
