East Kent Sea Compendium. Today was to see me try and fish over a wreck, we all know that features on the sea bed always hold fish of some degree and my local patch is home to an abundance of wrecks. This due to a mass of sea mines during the war that claimed a fair few boats as did the German U boats but also the Goodwin Sands claimed its fair share. I enjoy fishing over a wreck when I can and initially found my self pretty much guessing where to drop my anchor and quite frequently would end up having to have many attempts until I was happy and in the spot I wanted. This was an organised kayak fishing meet that my wife talked me into going, I was a little apprehensive due to being new to it but I didn't need to be as everyone made me feel welcome and a weekend of fishing drinking and having a laugh soon followed. East Kent Sea Compendium. I was fishing Sandgate today for my first trip of the year and initially thought I would be fishing alone however my friend Steve later called to say he would be joining me. We was hoping there may still be a few Cod about but we both knew the run of Cod were beginning to slow now. Steve looking a little cold. We both paddled out for around fifteen minutes until we were in around 60-70 feet of water before dropping the anchors to fish. Cod and chips, lovely! Create a free website.
