Chex and the Heavies: Royal Purple
http://chexandtheheavies.blogspot.com/2016/04/royal-purple.html
Saturday, 23 April 2016. Just in time to miss the Queen's 90th birthday, it's Carltonlima Emma! I spotted some tiny purple flowers and thought they'd make a nice background for Emma. I love how you can see the purple colour reflected on her black coat. Very regal. 12 June 2016 at 19:53. Love your blog and photo skills! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Chex and the Heavies. I love how you can see the purple colour reflected on her black coat. Very regal. Monday, 11 April 2016. I started off with a handful of tiny models on the kitchen table. This is my favourite Stablemate Highland Pony, because of her more realistic eyes and rich dun colour. A Papo Border Collie:. Labels: American Quarter Horse.

Chex and the Heavies: Back on Form
http://chexandtheheavies.blogspot.com/2016/04/back-on-form.html
Friday, 1 April 2016. Not to worry, I haven't forgotten about this blog! Life's been pretty hectic lately with lambing and bad Northern Irish weather getting in the way of my model horse photography. So allow me to make a few introductions. This is Carltonlima Emma (or Emma, for short):. I got her as a present for my 21st birthday. She is very adorable - but then I am a sucker for fluffy native ponies. It was fun to just take photos of the little details in her mould. She even has a wonderful little beard.

Chex and the Heavies: October 2015
http://chexandtheheavies.blogspot.com/2015_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 27 October 2015. There was a time, years ago, when I bought every single. New Schleich horse that was released that year. It may have taken me most of the year, but I got there eventually. These days, I rarely succumb to the temptation to buy myself a little Schleich horse when I see one. I make myself think, Do I really need this? The answer with these two was, Yes. Yes I do. This is the stallion. I love how majestic he looks! He's very sturdy and stands well - a joy to photograph! I was given ...

Chex and the Heavies: It's a Big World...
http://chexandtheheavies.blogspot.com/2016/01/its-big-world.html
Saturday, 2 January 2016. It's a Big World. In 2015 I didn't buy many Schleich horses, but one of my favourites has to be this Mini Shetty Stallion. The adorableness nearly blew me away, but the clincher was that I have a Miniture Shetland Pony myself, so it would be unthinkable not to have him. I am in love with this little fella. His pose is really fun, even if it makes him harder to photograph. My favourite photo of the lot is this one. He just looks so teeny tiny. 3 January 2016 at 13:01.

Chex and the Heavies: Traditional Gifts
http://chexandtheheavies.blogspot.com/2015/12/traditional-gifts.html
Saturday, 26 December 2015. I wonder how many people have unwrapped Misty and Stormy on Christmas morning over the years. This year it was my turn. I'd ordered them from America at the end of November, and it was tense wait to see if they'd arrive on time. Thankfully they made it - and they're gorgeous. Misty was the one I was most excited to see in person, but in fact Stormy is very adorable all by himself. Photos in front of wrapping paper because Christmas. And just for fun, some size comparisons.

Chex and the Heavies: July 2015
http://chexandtheheavies.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, 26 July 2015. When I'm in the mood to buy a new horse, I look at independent retailers - I find online shops specialising in farm toys to be the best places to look. That's where I found the discontinued Gem Twist, and where I found these two. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw them for sale. They must have been sitting in a warehouse for some time. They're very happy I rescued them and set them free! Please ignore out of scale grass in the background. Oops.). Laire is beautiful too.
